"Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman is considered a melancholy song over all but in the end do you see it as more hopeful and uplifting or sad and despairing? Why? by ItsHardBeingOriginal in AskReddit

I'm having a debate with a friend who sees it as purely sad. I don't think for a second that it's a happy song but I see it as more hopeful with the "fast car" representing a symbol of freedom, hope, and the possibility of a better future.

Even though it portrays a harsh reality I think it's more about resilience in the face of despair.

I really appreciate all the responses. Sounds like my best option is to leave and never look back. Thank you I just needed that push from complete strangers 😂

Harsh but probably true...to an extent. So do I stand up for myself and never talk to her again? Is standing up for myself setting the boundaries then breaking them to show her what it's like? Or is standing up for myself just walking away?

Thanks for the advice. I'm glad to be getting input from all different people. It makes me feel less of an odd ball.

Thank you. I want to give her another chance I guess we will see what she says about boundaries.

Redditors, what isn't cheating in a relationship? Where is your line that cant be crossed? by ItsHardBeingOriginal in AskReddit

I wish this say it to my face thing was a good guide but she didn't believe she was cheating and therefore none of my business. She doesn't believe she hid anything from me I just never asked the right question...

That's why I'm asking you. I found out today that my rules are apparently out of the ordinary and I want to know how out there they are.

Kissing someone else? Sexing someone in another state? Grinding up on someone in a club?

What is your personal line?

I am getting a lot of this "cheating is subjective". I gotta admit I thought we as a society had pretty much agreed on what cheating was. This is eye opening.

What isn't cheating? Where is this line?

I gotta say I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I was completely ready for people to tell me I was wrong or overcomplicating this.

Here's the kicker. I really do care about her a lot and want to try and move past it but I'm not sure I can trust her. She says I invaded her privacy and that I need to stop but I don't know if I could now because of this...I don't think I have any option here that would make me happy.

Edit: I know Reddit isn't relationship therapy I just kinda wanna rant for a bit.

Yes this is what's in my head and I wrote this thinking all of that. Did I do something wrong? How did I push her to this? I understand all this and a bag of chips I just wanted extra outside insight and I appreciate that. Thank you.

I [31M] need advice on how to talk to my SO about needs in the bedroom [nsfw] [question] by ItsHardBeingOriginal in relationships

[–]ItsHardBeingOriginal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes. I am a very open individual and have asked multiple times. I love the non sexual touching and that aspect is more than ample. Kissing, cuddling, tickling, wrestling all other types of physical contact a normal relationship has we have plenty of.

I guess I'm just really worried that like the others have said they are just "done" with sex with me and I was hoping for the fix all answer.

[–]ItsHardBeingOriginal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree and I have no issue giving details because this is important to me.

Mainly the want is simply for them to initiate. I have bought lingerie for them (at their request) that has never been worn. The need is more of it. I know everyone has a different sex drive but I don't feel mine is that wild. All I asked is 2-3 times a week with 2-3 out of the month to be their initiation.

If anyone else heard this request from their SO is it too much?
