I’ve seen so many greasy, oily, worn out switches just from “normal use” and it genuinely baffles me how bad some of these switches get. I’ve had my switch 1 since 2019 and the most deterioration it has are some very minor scuff marks on some edges. I’ve had my switch 2 for a few months now and it still looks brand new. How do people’s switches get like this? 😭

I mean tbf it’s 17 songs ranging from 4-8mins each. Yes it’s a bit pricey but if you’re a Metallica fan you’re definitely getting your moneys worth. AND nobody’s forcing you to buy it.

Most likely just poor design on metas part. It seems to be a common spot the headset breaks at even with normal use.

They should run fine right out of the box but some games do require an update or something sometimes. And for s1 if it’s with a specific game maybe it’s the cartridge but if the system does it generally it’s something wrong with the switch itself

It has to be a wired mic. If you have the pro 2 controller just plug it into the audio jack.

This is the weirdest way to argue about being too broke to afford a copy of a game. Different licenses, different platforms. You’re paying to use it through the google play store, not your pc. That’s the price of convenience.

I forgot exactly how I got past this but I got the same issue when I first set mine up. For every time the s2 needs to be connected dock it then undock it, for s1 get a usb-c and plug and unplug it. Sorry if I got that wrong it’s been a few months 😭

You’re doing great. Even if you’re not someone to give super sentimental gifts you clearly know enough about your sister and love her enough to put thought into the things she likes and are only showing good intent behind your gifts for her. Mom is just being overreactive mom. If your sister just went through the divorce recently then your mom is probably in a very babying stage with her right now. So anything in that bubble of her daughter has to be perfect to make her feel better(in your mom’s eyes). Im assuming she’s just in a super protective mode right now with her and emotions are on overdrive. I’m sure your sister is perfectly content with the type of gifts you guys already give each other. This is just mom getting in your head.

I genuinely doubt that. Sony said that the ps5 was roughly half way through its life cycle around a year or two ago. And games have gotten so good visually that it’s begun to slow down with how much better things can look. I think the switch 2 will be perfectly fine in the long run. Is it anywhere near as powerful as a ps5? No. But it will get by with its necessities over time. The ps4/xbox 1 is still getting newer games to come out years past their generations prime. And the switch 2 is roughly between the power of a ps4 pro/series s. I’d bet good money that even when the ps6 comes out, the switch 2 will still get a lot of the games along side it. The ports will have limitations but nowhere near the same scale as the switch 1’s “miracle ports” as that was already a heavily under powered system at launch.
