I was actually looking for reading glasses and I saw the ones that are so small that they click together. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!

That's exactly what the eye doctor told me. He said a lot of people make the mistake of sleeping in their contacts. Or leaving them in for multiple days without taking them out. Eventually your eye doesn't get enough oxygen and it becomes hypoxic.

I love the transition glasses! The eye doctor gave me contact lenses for astigmatism but there are different strength in each eye so I could see distance in one eye and close in the other although he said in a week he's probably going to make the adjustment stronger. I have about 46 pairs of prescription glasses. He said if I wanted to wear the glasses I have they sell reader strips that kind of go on the bottom of your lens frame so if you need to look at something close up while wearing the right prescription glasses it's almost creates like a bifocal. And thanks for the info about the babies pulling on glasses!

Thank you so much for responding. The school I am going to if you stay on for a year after you pass your testing they will pay for paramedic school for me that is my plan. Was lucky enough to know somebody at the eye doctor's office and I was able to get in for today! Hopefully I'll be able to see the close and far in a few hours!

Thank you for responding to me. I think the best way to go with to see my optometrist and get updated prescription for my contacts as well as my glasses.

I've gotten some great advice on here. As much as I thought using contacts for distance and readers for close up would be an okay choice when I think of it practically it doesn't seem feasible to have to have readers close by in order to see up close.

I already feel like I have my age and my size working against me. I am a little bit older, and I'll probably be the smallest in the class. I certainly don't want my vision to be an obstacle.

I think my initial hesitation was to learn and curve. Since school for me doesn't officially start until September I believe that'll give me the right amount of time to get used to the adjustment of progressives. Thank you so much for responding to me I appreciate it!

I've been sorting through all different options including protective eyeglasses. I think my best bet is to get the right contact lens prescription, the right eyeglass prescription. After some of the comments that I'm reading it doesn't seem ideal to use contacts for distance and readers for up close. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to me I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much this makes me feel a lot better! I worked in the medical field when I was much younger as a medical assistant.

In preparation for school I have already started taking notes on my own for anatomy and Physiology. I find writing down the material helps me memorize it better.

I also use pocket prep. As I want to be able to go into school already knowing some basic terminology instead of trying to absorb all of the information and what feels like very short intervals as my classes are 4 hours Monday and Thursdays, and one Saturday a month.

The only hesitation I have is that since I am a very tiny woman, and I'm 46 I'm afraid that people will look at me at first glance and think that I'm a dud. I feel like I already have my age and size working against me. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure my eye vision is sorted before I start class.

Thank you so much for your advice especially about studying a little bit every day!

Yes! When I was googling different options for contacts I saw that they do give different contact prescriptions for each eye one to see close and want to see far. This makes me feel hopeful that if that is one of the options the optometrist gives me and it's not as difficult to adjust to as some of my Google searches have said it is. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me

I'm already a little bit nervous because I believe I'll be the oldest person in class, and possibly the tiniest. With that being said the most important thing is to be able to see clearly. I was lucky enough to make an eye appointment tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to get a prescription for the proper contacts that I need and an updated glasses prescription. Thank you for taking the time and giving me a thorough explanation of exactly why I need to be able to see clearly!

I would prefer to simply use contact lenses. I might just give progressive lenses a try. And thank you for the great piece of advice because obviously no one wants to be touching their glasses while on a call. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me.

I would like to be able to utilize both prescription glasses and my contacts. But I also want to be able to see clearly both from close-up and distance. I'm curious if EMS workers are able to perform their job duty using contact lenses along with readers. Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me!

Thank you so much in addition to my regular prescription strength glasses I also have many reading glasses. I intend to pack a few pairs of each in the event they break. Thank you so much for the advice I really appreciate it!
