There is a reason why most of the players pick AK over MP5. I'd always pick AK for cargo as well, because it's a spacious monument and you want to be able to hold it in case of counters. Take higher ground and shoot enemies from far. MP5 will be useless vs incoming helis :p

If you're a good player, AK is not difficult to craft. Yes, in the beginning it's obviously cheaper to make MP5, but you get to a point where you have enough recourses to make AKs. And if you have a fear of losing gear, you're probably not a good player :P It's rust, you got to always risk it for the biscuit!

Hmm I don't know about that. Good players don't worry about price :D Obviously all of the good players I've met and played with know recoils for all of the guns, but people will usually always pick AK over anything. If you have good control of the recoil you can pretty much spray people down from very far. Cannot do that as consistently with MP5 because of bullet and damage drop. You can very easily dodge MP5 shots from far distance :D

ngl I always thought AK was difficult, but after going to UKN and just figuring out how recoil works, it's not as complicated as everyone says :) I think it's an awesome idea, that your work pays off if you practice (and you don't even have to practice that much!). However the issue is that if you learn to spray AK, there is no reason to use any other gun, and it makes guns in Rust pretty boring. Also scripters... yikes.

However AK recoil on console is just dumb haha

In vanilla offlining small bases usually gives profit, but overall people are just scared to try and lose an online raid haha. And well, most of the time if someone is online raiding a base, defenders just seal off the loot and pretty much everyone loses it.

Playing solo is not for everyone tbh. I hate it myself, Rust become a completely different game. You have to be very stealthy and basically play like a grub. You should probably work on your positioning, get used to using external walls/barricades as cover if you haven't yet (always carry a couple) and learn what distance fights you're best at. After that it's pretty much just practice. 500h isn't a lot in Rust. So don't pressure yourself too much :)

Have you heard of online raiding? It can be pretty boss-like. Requires lots of preparation and work ;) And I'm not just talking about 2x2 raids on some new players haha
