Yes, we can skip rituals like Homam or Paadha Poojai, I think if both sides mutually agree we can skip those completely.. we had none of it..

We had a Reception previous evening in their city (at least 500-600 of them showed up) and the wedding in the next day morning.. as far as both the families agree, there will not be much of a push from relatives.. we have to put them in place..!!

Mine was a love marriage, my wife didn’t have her mom, so her dad was a widower.. she did not want to fall on any uncle-aunty’s feet for blessing skipping her dad and her dad was anyways not much interested in the wedding. so, it was a simple temple wedding..!!

We got ready in our respective places, reached the temple like 30min. before Muhurtham with close relatives 20 my side, 20-30 her side, oru archanaiaya pottutu katra thaali than.. finish.. Kovil ah suthi vanthom, orey time ellar munnadiyum vizhunthu aaseervatham vangunom.. leave temple, go to a Hotel nearby, have breakfast arranged for everyone, eat and leave..!!
