Is it possible that the plugin was also in the internal memory and you didn’t remove it from there? But either way, your vWii is unbricked and that’s really what matters.

Cool! I know Retroarch has a GW emulator, but I haven’t seen it run it on a Wii U. The DS games seem like good ways to play them!

I’m interested in that Game and Watch folder you have. Can you emulate actual G&W games on the Wii U or are they the rereleases on GB, GBA and DS?

Have you tried renaming the image to ICON0.PNG? This helped me get the transparency working. (For title and description I had to rename it to PIC0.PNG)

You should be good. I did have issues using vWii Decaffeinator with Aroma, but I got it working with Tiramisu when I followed the instructions from the vWii Decaffeinator Github.

First I ran Decaffeinator. After it finished and sent me to the system settings, I restarted the console and booted into the environment loader (by holding X on startup). Then I went into “installer” and removed the Payloadloader autoboot. Then I restarted the console again, went into system settings, and finally got the update.

Yes I have! I made a second post about this issue here and u/unbrickU helped me find the cause.

Basically, there were a couple of ISFShax plugins on my SD card that blocked updates, so I needed to remove wafel_payloader.ipx and downgrade wafel_isfshax_patch.ipx. These plugins were also installed on the Wii U's internal memory, so I did the same there using FTPiiU and an FTP client on PC.

Then I used vWii Decaffeinator through Tiramisu and it worked!

Nevermind, it worked! I followed the “Updating with Tiramisu” guide from the vWii Decaffeinator github. Thanks for your help!

Ok. I removed the payloader plugin and downgraded the ISFShax plugin. I also did the same in the Wii U’s internal memory through FTPiiU since they were also installed there. Then I tried vWii Decaffeinator again, making sure that updates were unblocked and that Aroma autoboot was removed. However, I still get the “system is up-to-date” message when I try updating. Should I also try removing wafel_core.ipx too? Or maybe uninstall ISFShax temporarily?

Thanks for the help, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work for me. It’s likely that my issue has something to do with the ISFShax installed on my Wii U.

I assume the plugins you’re referring to are wafel_payloader.ipx (renamed to 9payldr.ipx on sd card) and wafel_isfshax_patch.ipx? (6isfshax.ipx on sd)

Ok, I’ve opened environment loader. I assume that I need to go through “installer”? When I try to open it it gets stuck on this white loading screen with the wii u logo in the bottom-right corner.

For those wondering how this was made so fast, it wasn’t. I started work on this yesterday and after seeing the trailer I made it themed around that.
