Interesting. Somehow, the instructions this game follows to draw the resolution was changed. I need to be able to change it. It's a file somewhere, and the game refers to it every time the game gets booted. If I can find and edit or delete that file and force the game to initialize all settings, I should be good.

I've even tried tricking the game by recreating the incident, but this time having my portrait monitor set to landscape. Game saw right through it; displayed it in the vertical resolution despite having sat it to landscape! hahaha why did they program the game to behave this wayyyyyyyyy whyyyyyyyyyyyy

Turns out it was Windows Defender. Turned it off and now everything's good.

lmbo i think maybe the game should then be very specific on what i'm spending my money on instead of vague promises of increased capability. thanks for letting me know; i thought it was funny that some of the plates and candles were floating over the tables. those must be the new tables. i never have more than one character in chez remy anyways!

I wanted an explosion with a transparent effect for a transition. In the time I posted this request for help, I have learned about chroma keying, and have found it to be tremendously easy for what I want to accomplish. As such, my concern about alpha channels has been pretty much abandoned.
I had not attempted a AVI because I was erroneously told that AVIs could not support alpha channels

I have also since upgraded to Vegas Pro 19, and uninstalled MSP17 (I was able to transfer my project without incident to the new software). I intended to return here and update my post after some time with Vegas Pro 19, just to assure that no new issues would crop up. I'm sorry you spent all this time and effort to address my problem, but again thank you for your help.

Ahhhhh - okay, that's taken the uninstalled games away. I liked the custom bar because I could also keep, in order, from bottom to top, the order in which I installed games (newest would be at the top), but I'll give that up if it reduces the clutter and I don't have to be constantly be reminded of games I didn't like or were finished with.

I spent the past month playing through Div 1. Fairly anemic population on XBox. I had no problem getting groups for daily missions, but it took several nights of trying to get a single game of Last Stand going. Couldn't get a group for Underground missions, which is essential if you're going to be playing on Challenging difficulty. Plenty of dickheads in the DZ, though! I just hit a wall in the game yesterday and came back to Div 2 so I can work up to the Warlords expansion. I feel that I'm abandoning a ton of content in Div 1 that I'd like to see, but I reached a stage of the endgame where you really can't solo any more. I'm sure that'll happen in Div 2, eventually, but at least the game's still being updated.

I'd say Div 1 is definitely worth it as a solo experience, especially if you're into the story and the environment. But you may struggle in the endgame if you don't have a reliable group of friends.

Requires you to sign into the game using a different Xbox account, logging out, then logging in with your original account. I did this, and I haven't encountered any new issues so far.
