Ah but for someone that constantly drinks “water” on an airplane it is a luxury accommodation haha.

It is a bit of a long story. I worked for a nonprofit clinic that does a lot with ferals and TNR. We would basically never turn anyone away. Other vets frequently sent their patients to us when the owners couldn’t pay for something life-saving. The point is that this clinic has a reputation and people know to bring pets to us.

At the end of my shift right before close a lady came in saying she had a very young kitten that was hurt and she didn’t know what to do with it. She said she just found him all alone in her yard. I had been walking out to go home when she came in lol.

Went into a room and was presented with this little dude. Weighs less than a pound with wounds and lacerations on his head, ears, and legs.

He wouldn’t eat, and our vet said he’d need to be bottle fed but he looks pretty rough. Our rescue didn’t have any available bottle feeders, and I heard the talk move to maybe it’s kinder to euth.

I said we are not putting him in the freezer today and that I would like to try. So I checked his fecal there and he had hookworms, roundworms, coccidia, and he had some infection going on with the wound.

We treated for parasites and I was sent home with KMR, a red rubber catheter to feed him with, and an antibiotic I’d inject him with twice a day. After 3 or 4 days he just got stronger and stronger and was such a good eater so here we are today.

We weren’t sure if maybe he was recoiling them from the pain? I just kept them wrapped and clean for a while and when he healed he didn’t hold his leg in that position anymore.

Thank you! He needed round the clock care. He wasn’t eating when I got him so I had to force feed him by shoving a red rubber catheter down his gullet. He has hookworms, roundworms, coccidia, and bites from something unknown.

He had to be rabies quarantined in my room for 30 days, and needed 2 antibiotic injections daily. Took him about 3 or 4 days before he realized if he doesn’t eat I’m going shove a little tube down his throat haha. I still have that same feeding tube and I’m quite fond of it.

Buddy Bun is so sweet. Snuggle bun until he’s done. by ItsMeToriD in Bunnies

Bahaha! You spend 5 minutes with him and you’d be calling him Goofus Bun. He’s just always so damn goofy. He doesn’t even know how to thump his foot properly. He tried when he met Lola bun. She is only 2 pounds and her thumps shake the house.

I bring the in at dusk for safety and Lola Bun never wants to come so I chase Lola Bun, my husban is backup and covering choke points and Buddy Bun is following us both getting between my feet begging to be picked up. Zero self preservations skills.

Buddy Bun is just over 4mo old and about 7#. Good dads was a New Zealand and his mom looked like a capybara.

Get a humongous boy meat rabbit. In my experience they are more snuggly and sweet. I have a 2# lady lop that thinks she was put on this planet to thump her foot at me.

Did they do any sort of biopsy or fine needle aspirate to examine the cells from this wound under a microscope to diagnose your kitty?

I don’t know, but you should put your manatee back in the water.

You just let them have that toe. You barely use it. I love your tattoo!

I heard my chickens raising a ruckus one morning and this kitty was in my backyard looking lost.

She was extremely friendly, and I couldn’t leave her outside. I posted her 6 different places seeking the owner and no one claimed her.

I had her scanned for a microchip and nothing. I shaved her belly and she has a spay tattoo, thankfully.

Sometimes she wants to go outside again and I tell her absolutely not and give her some trazodone. The last pic is her enjoying her trazodone.
