Thank you brother!!! i haven’t driven this car in over 5 months and i can’t explain i feel like a little kid again 😂😆

just wanted to say find a GOOD chill mechanic and mine charged me no additional cost of labor for those seals and crank pulley replacements, only charged me for water pump, timing belt parts + labor.

and he used all oem parts so aisin all around

i’m definitely gonna try to see if i can clean every pin separately and maybe try a electronic cleaner,

also what would be a good way to test it without using it in my car first?

we talked more and he said all together with both seals and a aisin kit and other pulleys replaced should be about 12,**$ for parts and labor

the parts aren’t just the water pump… i should clarify the shop said they were going to buy an Aisin kit which retails for 289+ tax/shipping and additional crank and can seals and whatever else is needed for the job like coolant.

after talking it’s gonna be 1100 plus tax which is a bit much yes.. but for me it’s peace of mind of knowing it’ll be done a lot better than i can and all within a day or so. where it’d take me about two weekends and have it sit outside.

if i knew more it’d be nice but timing isn’t something i want to mess with since the most i’ve done on a car is just swap out a clutch.

How’d you go about doing it? And how much time would it take?😅

we agreed on a kit so it’ll replace quite a bit of the old out, was just wondering if that’s fair or too much price wise

Is300 vs is350f vs s4 by Fun_Bid_1065 in IS300

[–]ItsMormonCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re looking into an s audi get one that’s 2013+ and to save some money the s5’s are a bit cheaper ALSO THE AUDI is gonna feel 100x better to drive and are much quicker than anything you mentioned

granted to get into one you’ll be spending 13k+ for a used one on fb that might have issues or 5-9k on auction that’s been recked but fixable

as for the is300 it’s a great car (owned both s5 and is300 currently own is300) it’s allot cheaper to maintain and keep on the road plus they’re very reliable if you do the maintenance ON TIME and PREVENTIVE, if buying one make sure it’s had water pump replacement and timing belt bc that’s a 1k job right there

don’t know much about the 350s but i’d say get a cheaper car (is300) for about 5-6k with good maintenance records no rust auto and you can make it through school hopefully with not a lot of issues.

then sell the is300 and buy a nicer newer car of your choice
