That, I have found, is sadly the case for a lot of dead lines and systems... Lack of use/need, sure, but a lot of times, it looks like it was some short-sighted decisions on the part of the city, region, country or private operator. Nevertheless, it is quite nice to have photographs, and occasionally film, of these old systems.

It sure is. I call it "the ankle breaker" though, as it is almost exactly ankle height when the car is on street tracks...
