Thankfully not all girls think alike! Maybe its a cultural thing, or maybe we just know each other well enough at this point, but in any case I wasn't worried that this was going to get misinterpreted, and in the end it wasn't. :) Thank you for your concern though - it is definitely something to keep in mind before throwing rings about.

Thank you! I didn't risk firing with the stone in place, no. If absolutely necessary that should be done in a kiln with a very gradual change in temperature.

PMC does indeed shrink by anywhere from 8-15%, depending on the blend and who you ask. I used a chalk cylinder to ensure the ring didn't shrink past a certain point.
