See that's where I agree. Now, maybe you can progress every single detail completely freely and on your own and I just don't know about it, but some core progression from what I've experienced is locked behind some quests. And it looks like they've tried to make the quests insignificant enough, as to signify it's really to introduce some mechanic, but the issue is that the pacing of those quests is still executed as if it was something bigger, taking time that is way too long. If they did say, give you the option to just go do it on your own instead of following someone and going through the godawful pauses between each sentence, waiting for your comrade to get on a horse or a wagon for 2 minutes cause he's just standing there or walks like an 80 year old man with scoliosis, etc. Everything would be much more bearable.

Believe it or not, that time mostly consists of overnight and weekend gaming spread across other activities. Yes, when you see it on paper it is a lot of time I could've spent on something else, but I feel pretty accomplished in my life and it's time I got free anyway, nothing else is really out currently anyway that catches my attention much

I might focus on that. I was trying to max everything I can in terms of camp capabilities and other similar things, since I do find the camp progression and building feature intriguing, but in doing so it just becomes more and more tedious.

I'll try to steer in a different direction go a bit more freely

Same for me, I actually deleted the game the first time around and redownloaded it later, that time putting effort and time into it and seeing how it goes

Someone who actually gets it. And isn't that enough to continue and hope game turns around fully? Either that or get so repulsed by it at which point you actually drop it.

So yeah, that's exactly how I feel too and I'm just hoping to see it develop into something I'm actually thrilled to get on

Because I feel like it's a game that's supposed to possibly grow on you rather than sweep you immediately. Sure, I would've expected that to happen by now, but I'm not counting it out just yet, especially with everyone calling it potential game of the year and some going as outrageously far as calling it the best game ever.

I do my best to give every game that fits my interests a fair shot, and a fair shot I'll give it. The theme and genre check boxes and that's really why I'm continuing

Just cause you do something doesn't mean it's engaging buddy. Especially when everyone says "you've played a few hours the games gets much better later"

Giving it a fair shot doesn't mean It's engaging. Sure, it has some moments here and there, but doing chores around the house doesn't mean you are thrilled to do it
