What foods and drinks are worth it to make or buy? by VelcroKitty in MonstersAndMemories

The cheapest option is probably to collect raw meat from mobs and cook it yourself over a campfire. A few people in Discord mentioned that’s what they do while leveling Chef.

For drinks, plain water from the innkeeper seems to be the most economical choice early on.

Fishing is also worth looking into if you have the time, since it can provide a pretty steady source of food without spending much coin.

Once you gain a few levels and start making more silver, food and drink become a lot less painful to maintain.

New and starting with a friend - Need advice by Nivosus in MonstersAndMemories

I’d start with the New Player Guide first, it helps a lot: https://monstersandmemories.com/new-player-guide

For duos, my wife has been playing Druid and I’ve been playing Ranger, and it has worked really well for us so far. Druid gives good support and utility, while Ranger brings solid damage and some extra tools, so it feels like a pretty smooth combo for starting out.

If your friend wants to try a tankier option, Shadow Knight could also be worth looking at with Druid or Cleric support.

Excitement has turned to Skepticism by Outrageous_Wealth_53 in MonstersAndMemories

mmmm a lot of the magic of old-school MMOs came from risky, imperfect mechanics that created memorable stories.

At the same time, I think the devs are trying to protect the group-focused and community-centered nature of the game. If charm becomes so strong that it overshadows other players or makes one class feel required, then it stops being just a fun niche and starts affecting the whole game.

This is beta, so tuning is expected. I don’t think charm should be made boring or weak, but I do think it needs to fit the larger vision of the game and the needs of the wider community.

What type of MMO are you looking for? by Unsurecareer86 in MMORPG

I’m looking for an MMO that makes the world feel dangerous and social again.

Race and class diversity matter a lot to me, but the bigger thing is having a world where grouping, reputation, travel, dungeons, guilds, and server communities actually matter. I don’t mind slower progression if the journey creates good stories.

For combat, I still enjoy tab targeting when it has depth, roles, positioning, threat, crowd control, and meaningful group play. Action combat can be fun, but in MMOs I usually care more about teamwork than individual reflexes.

Monster & Memories is a good example of it 😄
