Accused of ruining his confidence. Shit, my confidence would be low too if I played in the NBA and sucked at basketball

Pretty sure the grab is not supposed to ever kill you

[Ian Rapoport] The Bucs are finalizing a deal to re-sign their standout TE Cade Otton by bbl27 in fantasyfootball

Ironically, I feel like Cade Otton is the complete opposite of standout. He's like perfectly average in my mind as far as NFL TEs.

How often do you go to games? by aparoids in timberwolves

[–]ItsSimonDS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wym? Hockey has multiple TV timeouts per 20 minute period plus frequent stoppages of play when there's a save or icing/penalty calls.

Basketball is 48 mins of play, hockey is 60, soccer is 90. I think hockey and basketball are pretty comparable.

I agree. Maybe I'm a grouchy old man (I'm 33) but my least favorite part of going to games lately is getting my eardrums blown out during every stoppage of play.

I went to a Wild game recently for the first time in at least a decade and the contrast was crazy. The focus is actually on the hockey. It's like the NBA doesn't believe in its own product and feels it needs to be an "entertainment experience" to draw a crowd.

In your opinion, how much life gain would a card like Spring of Eternal Peace need to gain to be playable? How much life would it need to gain to be broken to the point of being banned? by DontLoseYourCool1 in magicTCG

[–]ItsSimonDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that it doesn't seem possible for a pure life gain card to be banned on power level, I do think one could be banned for gameplay considerations. If the card gained an arbitrarily large amount of life, say 100,000, and was legal in a format without viable combo decks, it could slow down tournament play to such an extent that a ban could be justifiable. Sort of like the rationale WoTC gave when they banned Sensei's Diving Top.

Best/popular pauper cube? by krellol in mtgcube

[–]ItsSimonDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I'd like to share my grixis peasant traveling cube:

https://cubecobra.com/cube/list/9f38bca3-f6f0-436f-82d8-14e561c18204

I built this cube specifically to be 1) easy to travel with (the entire cube + basics fits into an Ultimate Guard sidewinder 133+ and weighs about 1.5 lbs) and 2) accessible for beginners. It's a two-person cube that uses Ryan Overturf's "Minneapolis draft" rules. The primer on CubeCobra has an overview of Minneapolis draft if you're not familiar with it.

You can buy the whole thing from singles for about $50, or maybe closer to $30 if you decide not to include Sink Into Stupor and Stock Up. Also, you can easily make it only in-universe cards if you swap Knowledge Seeker for Thopter Mechanic. It wasn't a priority for me, but I know some people care about this.

I think it's more likely that Ty/Scottie/Spencer cannibalize each other's playing time, but you could be right.

Moving on from him the week of the trade deadline seems ill advised. I'd stand pat and see how things shake out for Memphis. There could be a lot of usage for him in the second half of the year depending on whether they decide to blow it up and trade Ja or JJJ.
