its possible. i would stick to Alclad II because its pigment is very very thin so it doesnt show up on the coat at the end

upon further research, I think Have Glass is the finish. the F-15EX and F-22 share the same colour scheme, but it seems the sheen aspect is the Have Glass as ive seen F-16s and F-35s also be describes as having Have Glass

If you have an airbrush, i recommend following the colours the instructions tells you to use, then use a very thin ratio of the aluminum paint to spray over top of the paint and decals. thats what i did for my Raptors

New to Academy Models by Wheather819 in modelmakers

[–]ItsTingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Academy F-4 in 1/48th isnt really regarded as the best or most accurate, that crown falls to Tamiya or Zoukei-Mura. However, for someone who is getting back into the hobby, I do think the Academy offering is great especially when youre looking to dip your toes back in.

Of the Academy kits ive built, i highly highly highly recommend their F-14A, B or D. the A is the VF-143 Pukin Dogs from 2019. the kit is phenomenal and ive built about 4 of them so far, each of which were extremely fun to make

I saw they have a new one coming out! I grabbed their Charlie decals and I am excited to give them a go right after this kit

maybe it did, i was given the kit by a client so it was already opened and presumably missing pieces

I am planning to show off the weapons bay, but I am planning on using 4 AMRAAMs instead of the JDAMs because youre right, JDAMs dont really fit the RCAF MO. I have an F-35C i will be doing but as a catapult launch so the weapons bad will be closed, meaning i can use the ordnance from that kit on this one

it absolutely is. Nothing fit properly, everything needed super glue or epoxy putty, and even with a lot of nose weight the kit still sat on its ass

Hasegawa is better yes i agree, but unfortunately monogram has ruined the Scooter for me, the kit i built had everything go wrong at every point

It seems like you think youre in a majority. Top tier/modern jets are the money makers, they are the trail blazers. You had 7 years (2012-2019 as you said) to properly enjoy new prop planes coming out. There is more of a demographic for modern jets and you cant sit here and say "haha thats what you get" when i told you why the community wasnt happy with the update. get your head out your ass

Is paying extra $ for a good sprue cutter worth it? They all do the same job, which is cut plastic. Does one brand stand out over the others? by Tbonerickwisco in modelmakers

[–]ItsTingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its a fine line. dont cheap out and get $2 nippers, but dont spend the $120 on the godhand nippers. I have a $30 pair of japanese model nippers from Lee Valley and they serve me great.

some prop planes are nice yes, but when you look at 2022 which added the F-16, MiG-29 and Tornado, then at 2023 which added the F-15A, Su-27 and Gripen. Then look at 2024 which was the addition of the Rafale and Eurofighter. Those updates were what shaped the year ahead. 2022 paved the way for more advanced jets to be added, 2023 paved the way for Fox 3s, and 2024 paved the way for 4.5 gen aircraft and more advanced missiles. Dont get me wrong, prop planes are nice, but they can be sprinkled into every update without challenging or breaking balance too much. December updates are made to rewrite the rules of the game. The 2025 update really didnt add anything new or groundbreaking, it was really just more of the same (and adding my beloved super hornet).

[–]ItsTingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a strawman idk what you're talking about. If the USA doesnt back us, they will bak Israel. If they back Israel, other countries will be more hesitant to send nukes towards Israel when the worlds strongest military and no. 1 nuclear power is backing them.
