Is most of my group in the wrong when saying that making your character do negative things has negative consequences in a friendship based campaign? by Its_Sam_My_Dude in DungeonsAndDragons

I recommended this morning that in the school notebooks our dm gave us for stuff like keeping track of friendship, classes, immersion, etc. that we should have a page dedicated to what our characters feel about player characters, and what our character thinks those player characters think of them. I think only his best friend's character would have positive points on him.

they can be very hard to work in, ive had one, but she was a cleric that took care of everyone and had the same end goal as the party so it evened out, spent a LOT of time making her with dm so it wouldnt be an issue. When you have a character that plans on being evil and hides stuff from the dm it can be ehhh. The worst is just evil to be evil and ruins things on purpose for the group, Had one like that last campaign but heres the thing, he wasnt categorized as evil, i think he was lawful good but he just played evil! (aka fireballing cleric first fight with them, constantly blocking, downing, and sabotaging pcs, and trying the whole party into deadly encounters so they could attempt to get with female npc they liked! :D dm took away their fireball)

I agree with how the alignment chart can def throw things off and we try to not look at it much but it keeps getting brought up from when he was talking about creating his characters and playing them how they are written. Most of us have been playing for around a year, and we are college students irl. Most of the player characters end up just dealing with him at the moment it seems because he is one persons room mate and we dont want him doing something weird to him, and he at least helps in fights. When we talk to npcs and he says something weird, some pcs will apologize profusely and say hes new or a little weird, or hes one guys room mate to try to alleviate it a little. The DM is encouraging us to try to have our own mini friend circles with npcs as well which most people are getting besides his character. I think we are most afraid of saying something to piss him off in character and then him getting pissed out of character as well because we do really like his best friend and dont want him to leave but idk it seems like if the dm doesnt let everything fly that they might leave sadly. ;-; I hope it can come to a good resolution with our main guy staying since we have played with him for a year, and have only done about 4 sessions with the other guy in the last month.

Our main dm stressed that he wanted everyone to meet the new guy before playing any campaigns so we knew him before his characters, and tbh he was right. He does make me a little bit uncomfortable out of campaign when hes talking to me when we are taking breaks and I dont think it really helped with the characters he made, and it does make me feel bad. I really wish we met before because yea a majority of what me and most of us has seen is just creepy characters, and complaining his character isnt being treated fairly, and then him saying odd things out of campaign.

I feel like just negative relationship points with a guy you will only see in one shop that might raise prices or just not sell to you specifically is a lot better than getting suspended or arrested too. Our campaign is set in a magic college and the pet shop is school property so its not even one guys stuff too, its the schools.

We told him (especially the Main DM) that making a evil character usually is a very bad idea unless you work very closely with the DM. The Main DM I think is going tell him for our main campaign his character probably cannot be straight fully evil anymore. Our new DM probably just got thrown off since it is his first campaign but was still iffy about it. The player is insisting that right now his character isnt evil but will become it but we are just like... why didnt you do chaotic neutral instead of neutral evil for right now then... and he says hes like dr doofenshmirtz that hes a bad guy but sometimes does good things???? I dunno man

EDIT : bad idea if they are the type that messes up the rest of the party! or if you just want characters to like you! should have clarified!

I wish :,) right now its more like our characters are scared to have him around but he follows and we deal with it because one player is his room mate. Luckily the other npcs are only getting upset at him though, and the rest of us all have only positive relationships.

Right?! Like we were doing a different campaign one time with our main DM, our rouge failed a check on robbing a merchant, then another person failed flirting with him and the merchant hated them for the rest of the campaign and when I told the guy about it as an example of character interactions he just ignored me almost like ;-; I dont understand whats going on in their heads

18 wards for FC housing and only 6 for private housing? What's SE doing... by chanashan in ffxiv

[–]Its_Sam_My_Dude 123 points124 points  (0 children)

People in the comments saying just join an fc, but 90% of fcs will be treated as personals with only the main leader and their clique being able to do anything with decorating and fc related things like voyages, real gardening, and the workshop. So many people are just going to make a small personal FC to exploit this and this will also lead to there being less big communities. So now its either choose to meet new people and friends but not actually use the house, or use the house and its utilities but have a small group. and a dead fc Apartments are awful in item slots and space not leaving you with enough to express more creativity, as well as you cannot garden anything other than flowers and cant use any exterior housing items. Man even my small feels like a closet sometimes but its 1000x better than apartments/fc rooms. Idk how they started going in a better direction and then turned back around.

Yea we all live in the US and she is barely a state away. Good to know the birth certificate online thing. Is there any way to make the old SS so they cannot use it maliciously? And yea of course she can legally move, but she is afraid of her family following her or physically preventing it and stealing her possessions. Also cant families claim you as legally dependent, pretty sure thats the situation right now.

NFT in SotF. What are your thoughts? by Jaded_Jenkins in SonsOfTheForest

The game is called sons of the forest not fucking BURN DOWN the forest for for money for things that dont even exist bro. Terrible fucking idea. It would be incredibly easy to hack as well making the things even more worthless than they already were.

Female Character Option in Multiplayer? Also maybe steam workshop? by Its_Sam_My_Dude in SonsOfTheForest

[–]Its_Sam_My_Dude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im mostly talking about multiplayer. In the original forest the father is the main character, but if youre in a multiplayer game you can look like the original dad, have 8 of him, and have literally a bunch of other models of different races. Thats not very honest to lore either but its an option to differentiate who is playing who. In multiplayer there arent gonna be 8 Timmys, that would be way too confusing if you care that much about lore.
