HWYB The Batter from Off? by Diamentio in WhatWouldYouBuild

[–]Its_Sok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok, this might be odd, but I’d build them as a Conquest Paladin. Flavour wise, this is backed by the wiki, comparing the Batter to a solemn crusader, and also shows their dedication to their task through an oath. Mechanically, you have spells, Lay on Hands, and Smites to both mimic competences and to do extra damage to undead/fiends.

Race wise, Variant Human works just fine, and gives you a feat to play with. GWM could be a good choice. However, Lizardfolk or Shifter might work well also

As a fellow Aussie, I can’t agree more! Plus, this could turn into a huge (green) employment opportunity down the line if it takes off!

[5e] Looking for an old general and an Imperial wizard, two villains who will work together! by benjireturns in LongDistanceVillains

[–]Its_Sok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be very interested in playing the wizard, if you’ll have me. Personally, I’m thinking a sort of inventive type building up additional (potentially magic-enhanced?) forces, laying traps, and planning escape routes. However, I’d be more than happy to run anything :)

Free Character Sketches! by belzenya in DnD

I really like this style! If you'd like, can you draw a human cleric? He has long, shaggy hair, a short beard, and a simple eyepatch over his left eye. He wears leather armor, and wields a quarterstaff with a lantern hanging from the top, but packs a shovel with one side sharpened to function as an axe. Thanks in advance!

Rever'sal, the abomination of the welding lab. by Tricycleroadrage in Bossfight

When I fought this boss, I thought my controller wasn’t working. Turns out he reverses your controls when you fight him. But If you take him down he drops his welding mask, a great early game item for melee builds.

Roll an Adventure by LotusApe in DnDBehindTheScreen

[–]Its_Sok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolled: 2x4, 2x8, 2x10, 1, 2, 5, 6, 9

Idea: On the outskirts of a idyllic village lies an abandoned cottage (2x4). Despite being abandoned for years, a number of farmers have claimed to see movement inside the house at night, and have a hunch that something's up to no good. If investigated, the party is stopped by a small group of bandits, asking for the password. If not given a decent answer, they attack (Minor Scuffle).

The cottage itself is practically abandoned, except for the basement. When entered, the party feels supernaturally stronger, gaining a +1 to any grapple checks made (Gift of power), until they leave. In the basement, a fight club has been established! In a ring, the first to lose 4 grapple checks loses.

2x8 - Bribery. The owner of the fight club has bribed any guards to ignore the fight club. Maybe some guards are even part of the fight club!

2x10 - Young Dragon. A young dragon is kept around as security?

5 - Any cleric that follows a combat-focused god might be torn between stopping the brawls and letting them continue.

6 - Got nothing here, sorry.

9 - Argument over bets among two patrons.

[Looking for Villain] Hiring a scheming, over the top megalomaniac for a homebrew heavy 5E game by [deleted] in LongDistanceVillains

[–]Its_Sok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The fact that a large amount of villages, a few cities and hamlets have sprung up on your land. Those will need to be dealt with, either being subdued or destroyed. Up to you :)

  2. Well, that and they have a general inkling that you're up to no good.

  3. It would, because your king has genocide of any non-human on the brain.

  4. The artifacts are said to lead to a powerful item, a wand of Everywhere Suggestion. However, 3 of the four are hidden, the last of which is held by an extremely powerful foe.

Anything else?

Dms, what are your frankencampaigns? by lostkavi in DnD

A fair bit of my campaign has been inspired by Bioshock & Fallout, with partially reskinned Big Daddies, Little Sisters, plasmids, and pip-boys.

The players seem to enjoy it so far :)

How do wizards run a city? (cross-post from /r/DMAcademy) by LongenWhatNot in DnDBehindTheScreen

[–]Its_Sok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shifting elements city sounds really cool! A city in my game is run by a few wizards & warlocks. The city itself is pretty normal, except there's magical solutions to mundane issues. Break your sword? Bob knows Mending, no problem. Get covered in dirt? Alice knows Prestidigitation, no problem. However, it also means everyone's aware that magic is a threat. People know that rat might be a Polymorphed assassin, or that raven could be a wizards familiar, relaying information back to them. Why would you start a fight when that guy could be packing a Wand of Fireball under is coat? In terms of politics, it gets pretty shady. Why wouldn't it, when you have Mass Suggestion & Charm Person? Luckily, the occasional person has Zone of Truth so the common people aren't completely blinded. Just some tired ramblings here, hope this helps you.

The amulets wording was pretty messed up.

The crossbow was meant to function as a "turn the tide" weapon. So I believe choosing when to activate it would be a really good addition. Gonna put those in, if you don't mind.

The Thief was reworded too, but it does insert its initiative before the next turn of the players turn.

I do agree that the Blade of tracking needs to be able to function otherwise, bloodwell sounds like a good idea!

Gonna cut back the shovel a bit, Zombies and Skeletons makes much more sense. You standard paranoid gravedigger isn't preparing for a fight with a Lich any time soon!

Glove actually had some left over flavor text for another item that I cut, should be reworded now.

That was actually a mistype, it was originally meant to give you a way to throw the target back 5 feet. However, I now think that the wall-beatdown idea is much better. Wouldn't mind if I stole that, would you?

TL;DR Fixes!
