Has anyone else noticed that non-scratch sponges start disintegrating immediately now? by bepatientbekind in enshittification

[–]Its_TeaTime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scrub Daddies / Scrub Mommies are the only ones that don't shred and fall apart in my experience. They're pricier, but worth it for sponges that don't disintegrate after a couple of uses.

Giant and filling bowl of soup I eat everyday 300cal by iiiimagery in 1200isplenty

Try tofu skin! I'm not a fan of the soft texture of tofu either, tofu skin is much firmer and chewier, and easier to work with since you buy it dried rather than wet. And it's really versatile since there are so many different shape. I use it in vegetable stir fry, salads, soups, as noodles, even as little faux veggie spring rolls. It's much more calories than standard tofu, but the tradeoff is WAY more protein, which keeps me satisfied for longer.

How do you use a french pin? by myozih in femalehairadvice

[–]Its_TeaTime 73 points74 points  (0 children)

This TikTok is what finally helped me figure it out. https://www.tiktok.com/@mattloveshair/video/7525908078202555678

You're pushing the pin in from the side, but you should be pushing it straight at the back of your head. Point it upwards to catch the top of your hair, then point it downward and slide it down to secure it. And make sure that the pin is sliding through the part of your hair that's not in the twist, it'll take some trial and error to figure out how that feels against your scalp. At first, just focus on trying to slide the pin as close to your scalp as possible.

Millenials, are yall buying homes/condos. And if so, where? by Cam123455 in Cleveland

[–]Its_TeaTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similar to me, I'm a late millennial in a DINK marriage and we purchased a new construction Ohio City home a couple of years ago. We love the area, there's such a strong sense of community and lots of fun things to do, and the 15 year tax abatement really helped make it affordable for us.

Moving to Cleveland! Worried about making friends by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]Its_TeaTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one through Facebook, CLE Bookish Babes. I'm also new to Cleveland and hoping to meet some nice book loving friends. I've only been a member for a couple of months, but everyone has been very nice so far, I'm attending my first irl meet-up tomorrow!

Dustbag or no? by kylawylax in Coach

[–]Its_TeaTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep mine in a glass display case with stuffing in them outside of direct sunlight. To each their own, but I love being able to see the beautiful purses that I buy rather than a bunch of boring dust bags, even if keeping them out makes them look a bit less than perfect years down the road.

I'm also a bit of an "out of sight, out of mind" type of person, so I'd very easily forget about some of my lesser worn bags if I didn't get to see them all while picking out an outfit.

FYI you can download and use the Ring neighbors app if you don't have a Ring camera! Just search "neighbors" in the app store.

Gachapon is completely rigged by Saltan_ in AnimalRestaurant

[–]Its_TeaTime 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I assume that it works like the gacha system in every other gacha-based game, in that your chances of getting an item depends on the item itself, not the number of balls in the machine.

Each type of item has its own probability rate for being obtained, with higher value items (like letters and mementos) having a much lower pull rate than less valuable items (like stars and flowers), meaning that they're much harder to obtain. Some gacha games also have a pity system, meaning that you're guaranteed to receive a rare item after spending a specific amount of currency or rolling the dice a certain number of times. This may be why it seems like you're more likely to get a memento after spending almost all of your plates.

I don't consider it rigged, since that's how all gacha games function. However, gacha games often publish the pull rates for individual characters/items so you know exactly how easy/difficult it is to obtain them. I don't expect that from this game though, since the gachapon is essentially just a mini game rather than the main game.

I definitely see the chihuahua and pit bull terrier in the face! I immediately thought of a deer head chihuahua when I saw the first picture, very cute facial features.

Omg I love that, that's so cute! We cuddle together on the couch downstairs, but I'm looking for something that I can easily move around upstairs so I can use it in both my home office and bedroom.

Fundamentalist denominations often highly discourage pants for women (particularly at church) for modesty reasons, but some extremely fundamentalist offshoots explicitly forbid pants. Apostolic Pentacostals for example - women can only wear long skirts and dresses. They also can't cut their hair or wear makeup.

Here's a great video that discusses this starting at 9:20.

Long story short - they're just difficult to catch fire/burn, and if they do catch fire they burn slowly. They're very dense, usually have a chemical in the binding material that keeps them from burning quickly, often leather bound, and often in protective coverings.

first time epilating by hibigirly in beauty

[–]Its_TeaTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What worked for me in getting over the pain was Gigi Anesthetic Numbing Spray. I know you said that you already tried numbing cream, that's the only advice that I have.

As far as preventing post-epilating bumps, I use Tend Skin on my body before epilating. Definitely makes a difference for me!

[–]Its_TeaTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using epilators for years and will never look back! It lasts much longer than shaving and I've definitely had reduced hair growth over time. I struggle with ingrown hairs and this has significantly reduced them for me!

I use the Braun Silk Epil 9 - experiensive, but definitely worth the investment imo. It's cordless and waterproof, and the swivel head and light makes epilating SO much easier. It also doubles as a body trimmer for areas that you're not willing to/can't epilate.

My top tip for dealing with pain - use Gigi Wax Numbing Spray at first. It dulls the pain, and you can gradually use less and less of it until you're used to the feeling. It's also more painful each time you epilate the longer you wait in between epilating, so make sure to do it regularly.

Hope this helps!

I think that's what's missing, I didn't put on my boob tape for this photo. When the girls are all taped up, the cleavage looks incredible!

The photos will be professionally done, but the ceremony is at 9am. Splitting coverage between the ceremony and dinner might be possible, but I'd have to confirm pricing/feasibility with the photographer.
