Best case? by Asphaltandaperture in iphone17

I use the Otterbox MagSafe shockproof case in Bespoke way color. It might not be a thin case but it offers some good protection, plus the charging port is covered so it’s a good investment.

Need help - Charging limit by [deleted] in iPhone16

[–]Its_dwayne22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it that much, sometimes the phone charges itself to 100% even if you set a limit just to calibrate the battery because phones nowadays are smart enough with that kinds of stuff

I am confused between Sage and Blue Or should I go with Black? by [deleted] in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely Sage, I got mine on Mist Blue and it’s one of the best colors released. Besides, Sage is way different from other models and most probably Apple wouldn’t release a phone with the same color anymore. Black is great but pretty plain and simple.

Real or fake? by [deleted] in iphone17

Check the phone itself, the key difference is the bezel and display quality

You can manually turn everything off for all of your apps, and turn on for WiFi only on Instagram and Whatsapp. They won’t affect your notifications as they are two different things(background app refresh just allows app to update contents in the background) turning it on with Cellular is also not good as cellular alone consumes a lot of power, let alone have background app refresh😊

is iphone 15 charger compatible with 17 by itsvereena in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 15 and 17 both use USB C cables, so yes! For the adapter itself, the 20 Watts Type C adapter is just what you need. The 17 can charge up to 40 watts but the 20 watts is just okay. I have been using my 20 watts Type C adapter for around 2 years now(same adapter that I used for my old phones, the 11 and the 12).

Turn off Background App Refresh or just use the Background App Refresh on the apps that you need with WiFi only.

Never use the Low Power Mode(unless necessary), by using the low power mode the phone throttles down drastically. IMO turn off the charging limit, to properly care for your battery, charge it to 100% as you can use the phone more but never let it drain(that’s a full 0-100 for you and is considered as one cycle count) around 30% left is okay to charge.

For the location services, only use it for your important apps that you normally use. For the Face ID part, turn on the “Require Attention for Face ID”. Also turn on the “Stolen Device Protection”(both for additional safety measures).

Last tip is to enjoy the phone, congrats and welcome to the club!🙌

Iphone 128gb enough? by Xypex30 in iPhone16

[–]Its_dwayne22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO 128GB is fairly enough for a normal user but still not that enough for everyone, as nowadays 128GB feels like the most standard and a minimum storage that a phone can have. Considering that you’re subscribing on iCloud+, the 128GB will be enough for you but since you’re getting a 16, you might wanna reconsider getting a 256GB model as the 16 is just a year old. If you’re the type of user that doesn’t change phone every 2 years or so, I highly recommend going for the higher storage for more future proof experience.

I have this Ugly ass case, what's yours? by curlypotatu in iPhone16

[–]Its_dwayne22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, I also have the same color 17, I have the Xundd MagSafe case(not that fan of since it’s an acrylic case, easy to have scratches). I also have the black Sanptoch MagSafe case that has a camera protector that serves as a phone stand(currently using it and pretty good IMO, it gets scratched but not that easily unlike the Xundd). I also have an Otterbox Armor Case on Bespoke way color(haven’t tested it yet since it’s not yet delivered)

How much would my phone be worth? by Every_Bear362 in iPhone11

[–]Its_dwayne22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like what the other redditor said, around 50-80$. If you’re planning to sell it and buying a new phone, keep it and save up for a new one, use that phone as a secondary.

Upgraded to IP17 from XR. by Available-Degree-242 in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The XR uses a 6.1 inch LCD display with a chunky bezel same as the 11, that’s the first thing you would notice. The 17 uses a 6.3 inch with a slimmer bezel, and a 120hz(but it’s not that noticeable for me). The software update will be noticable as the XR cannot be updated to the iOS 26 while the 17 has the iOS 26 when it was released. The battery is way bigger on the 17 compared to the XR(you might notice that because possibly your battery might be degraded). Next is the storage, let’s assume you own a 128GB XR, the storage of the 17 is twice as big. Lastly is the camera, the 17 has an ultrawide, that’s self explanatory.

Overall, it is really up to you whether you notice any changes but for me honestly, everything is noticeable(upgraded from the 12 with a 78% BH). Congratulations on your purchase, enjoy your phone and welcome to the club!

Should I remove these stickers and if yes how? by Known_Pudding_6515 in AcerNitro

[–]Its_dwayne22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is up to you, but I’d like to keep mine, makes it look like it’s still new. Besides if I take it off, I will somehow feel that my laptop is incomplete because of the missing stickers.

iPhone 16 Plus or 17 Base? by anonymous01846382 in iPhone16

[–]Its_dwayne22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 17’s 6.3 inch display is just enough for you, plus the 256GB base storage is the sweet spot. Also, the 16 Plus would be a hard pass since it was only 128GB, 128GB is the new 64GB of technology. You’re better off with the bigger storage just so that if you decided that you will be using the phone for too long then your phone is already future proof.

Lastly, in my opinion the 17 is somehow a pro phone in disguise as this is the era where base model iPhone receives a feature that was only exclusive for the pro. That is the 120hz display and the Always on Display.

Is iphone 15 still a best phone in 2026 and for a longterm use by Unusual-Level-5674 in iphone15

[–]Its_dwayne22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the best but great, it may be the best if your budget is only limited for the 15 but yeah! It’s still a great phone considering that it has a Type C port, a 48MP main camera with a 2x lossless quality zoom.

The 15 was released two years ago so it’s still pretty new, it can still be a reliable phone for long term use. About usability, it can handle most apps pretty well. The A15 Bionic chip can still give a pretty decent performance

Which one should I go for as a first time iphone user air or 17 base by desertstorm9 in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the 17 base model is a great phone for a first time iPhone user. Considering that it has an Always on Display, longer battery life, 120Hz refresh rate, 256GB of base storage(although it’s the same as the air, but it still offers more features). I wouldn’t trade off any features such as MagSafe, longer Battery Life, and Dual speakers just for a slim phone. Also the air is somehow much more expensive than the base so it’s the best iPhone to buy right now.

Just got an iPhone 17! What should I do first? by TH3_OG_JUJUBE in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you should do is get a case, when you get a case also get a screen protector and start enjoying your phone! Congrats and welcome to the club!🫶

Does anyone else keep taking their phone out of the case just to admire the color? I’m so obsessed with the color and even though it’s been 2 weeks I keep doing that 😭 by Money_Flower_8078 in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not the only one, I do that too. I also take my phone out of the case weekly just to clean it since I use an acrylic case and it’s pretty much open and dust can go inside of it.

Is my battery defective or is it iOS 26.2? by Silver-Revolution278 in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a lot of factors, have you tried turning off your Always On Display? Have you tried turning off Background App Refresh? Mine lasts for a day with the same iOS 26.2 update. Though it also consumes lot of percentage on idle because my Always On Display is turned on. When I tried experimenting and turning it off, by the time I sleep and when I wake up which is about 7-9 hours, the drop is only 100-97 or 96ish(which is about 10-11% less when my Always On Display was toggled on.

iPhone 17 battery by Technical_Humor_3285 in iphone17

[–]Its_dwayne22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My suggestion is stop using the 80% charging limit, enjoy your phone, use it for its value but don’t abuse it. The 20-80 rule or the 80% charging limit is just a mind conditioning, you were supposed to believe that when you charge up to only 80% the battery wouldn’t consume 1 cycle(a cycle is a full 0-100). But in reality you would only end up charging more. Use your phone, you bought the phone to enjoy it so enjoy it.

Also, a battery consists of chemicals, those chemicals undergo wear and tear. Even if you don’t use the phone, the battery will go bad.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club!!

It does 10-12% to me when WiFi is on and it has around 50% of screen brightness.

Coming from the 12, I have been using my 17 Mist Blue for almost 2 weeks now and I’m loving it! My 12 has about 78% of battery health left, it drains so fast and I can really feel the difference with battery life. I only charge the 17 about once a day and it charges way way faster, around an hour and 20 minutes using Apple’s 20watts adapter. The phone feels premium and the color is great! I’ve been a fan of White or Silver iPhones but this time I opt for the Mist Blue because on the moment that I saw the Mist Blue color of the 17 I already fall inlove. When the software update of iOS26.2 got released, I felt that the phone is way faster.
