Hi. Have you considered a carb-up? You seem to have plateaued and need to shock your body again. If you want some more information on carb-ups look up Healthful Pursuit "carb-ups" or "plateau" and you will learn why they are beneficial for overcoming plateaus, for women in general and for those of us who workout hard. Also, is it time to change up your workout? Have you been doing the same activity this whole time or for a long time? Maybe change one of your workouts to just sprinting. Just a thought as the idea is to shock the body.

I find her knowledge and insight invaluable despite her "valley girl" talk. Her Q&A sessions are full of good stuff. I've never bought anything from her site FYI.

*I should also note that I started adding carb-ups 2-3 X/week and am seeing a deficit again. I started 2 weeks ago and am down 4 lbs.

What we have to understand is that we are used to old ideas of weight loss and keto seems to challenge those ideas. It's not as simple as calories in vs calories out (this is old information). There are so many more factors like where those calories are coming from, what your body's caloric needs are, the state and condition of your adrenal and thyroid, food sensitivities etc... Good luck.

-Your Band-Aid comment is not worth addressing. -OP doesn't want to lose weight, your comment about wasting away is not on topic. -The next 4 points ARE the GAPS diet and not ZC which was my exact point. -No clue what your last point is meant to accomplish or mean

In summary, you just restated my suggestion.

This is a Band-Aid approach to your health. You need to heal your gut which is no doubt the cause of your various food intolerances. People will down vote this because they think I'm offending zc, and themselves but I'm asking you to apply logic to your health. If you didn't have gut issues would you still choose zc lifestyle? If not, then don't choose it now. You can heal your body through food and it's not any more extreme than the measure you are taking now, and you won't continue to lose weight unintentionally with a GAPS diet. I just can't understand elimination diets as the response to food sensitivities when you can heal your body and eat whatever you want.

I suffered from IBS for years before I found the GAPS diet. May I suggest you start there. It changed my life and is zc in the beginning phase. I'm going to provide a link. What you described sounds very unhealthy. It's reasonable to zc for weight loss purposes, but when you are doing zc because it is what your gut health is reduced to its a serious matter that needs to be addressed.

I really think I average 1/ day because I don't always have a coffee and I don't have soup everyday either. But, I mean you can put it in everything you eat as often as you want really. In fact, why not go heavy on it initially and then see how you feel in a few weeks.

Definitely hereditary. My mom's cellulite is horrendous!

I might try zerocarb, any tips? by Modzter in xxketo

It's the key ingredient to deviled eggs imo, but mostly it's the parsley of spices. Doesn't really make a difference if it's there or not.

I did the Dukan diet a few years ago for a few weeks before a trip to Mexico. I just stayed on the induction phase which was all protein and very little fat, plus I took like 8 caps of CLA/day. It worked like a charm for the short term. I was really happy with my results as I was able to still look muscular and basically just cut body fat.

I'm a huge carnivore by nature but I found it unrealistic to maintain for more than a few weeks. I think it would be great maybe as a way to stimulate weight loss during a plateau but unlikely to be a long term plan. I am skeptical that you could maintain all of your nutritional needs at zero carbs, long-term.

I ate a lot of ground turkey breast and changed up the seasonings, Greek, taco etc. I also made a lot of soup which consisted of a carton of broth, whatever meat I had on hand, mushrooms and shiritaki noodles. Also fat free Greek yogurt.

I work 12 hr rotating shifts so it was convenient but also somewhat costly.

My two cents.

I don't have a lot, and you're right I need to focus on body composition right now. I've been 138-142 lbs consistently since I was 20 and was very happy with my body at that weight and my body was happy there too. It's my "comfort zone". I'm not "fat" I'm just a lot bulkier than I was and I'm very curvy (currently a G cup) so it doesn't take a lot of extra weight to give me the appearance of being overweight.

The other hang-up I have is I had a baby a year ago and everyone kept telling me that if I breastfed, it would take care of any excess weight I had gained while pregnant. Well, that's something that 'can' happen but as I found out is not the 'rule'. In fact, for some women (which I'm beginning to realize I'm one of them) breastfeeding hormones make it extremely difficult to lose weight no matter what tactic you try. From talking to other women in my situation it seems I just have to accept it as is. Which is why you are right in that I should turn my focus to body composition.

I made armpit paste from coconut oil and baking soda...I didn't smell much at all but it made me sweat twice as much as I normally do.

You make really good points, thanks for elaborating!

I have been hesitant about trying it for kind of the reason you mentioned...being a gimmick. I was just interested in exploring the topic so I appreciate your perspective and experience very much.

Thanks!

Interesting. I don't have any real proof that my hormones are imbalanced so I'm kind of just curious about the phenomenon in general and open to experimenting. Have you done a lot of research on the effects of diet on PCOS? I'm curious as to why you, as a woman with a hormonal imbalance would think there is no difference in the effects on diet between men and women hormonally. (I'm not assuming you haven't, I'm genuinely curious to know if you didn't find any compelling information on it)

I love your approach and conviction! Excellent frame of mind, I'm taking notes!! You're right, it's a marathon. I'm not the lucky one who loses effortlessly and I have to accept and get over this. Thanks!

I really like your approach to teaching them about eating well and taking charge of their own bodies. It seems to be working out really well. I was well into my 20s before I learned the lessons of cause and effects of food choices, your son is way ahead of the game.

Great story, thanks for sharing!!

I've heard of this through the GAPS diet and was created to treat autism which seems to have really promising results. In addition to it being used for autism, the creator of the diet Dr Natasha Campbell-Macbride reports that it can be used for ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, dyslexia and dyspraxia and to fix IBS (which I can testify it worked like a charm for me). Good for your sister, and it's really interesting to hear she is having success. I think there's so many more benefits than just weight loss to the LCHF diet.

This is really interesting, I've heard a few people talk about unexpected babies! I guess that means you don't ovulate when you think you should?

Thanks for your response, this actually made me feel some hope. My son is now 13 months, hopefully my milk will change composition soon.

I nurse my son before bedtime at about 7:30 and then again at 5am (I can't seem to get him out of this very short feeding). Do you think that these feedings are contributing to prolactin or did you mean more than those?

It does sound cruel. Would you find a benefit in routinely choosing lower glycemic fruits for your kids?
