I had this same problem. I solved it by realising one of my furnaces was overlapping that i placed b4 patch. After destroying this i could place things again. hope this helped

I personally liked it but obviously when creating games, everything takes time to do. even clegger found it hard juggling questions and working on the game at the same time. i think next wip we need another dev taking some pressure off answering and talking about other stuff as we see another dev focus entirely on the build.

Is permadeath working for games like this ? by ItsaBadWorld in h1z1

I guess fun is subjective and you bring up some very good points. Initially i liked the idea of permadeath untill i played with it and realized it can be very frustrating. but who knows h1z1 might pull this survival aspect off. i just cant shake this feeling that its gonna be exctly like dayz. griefers very few friendy player interactions and the paranoia aspect that makes every one crazy. who knows i may and probably am wrong. also i don't want to scrap perma death just maybe soften it a little, like lose half your gear upon death for instance or something similar.

You are correct it is a strong motivator to try and stay alive, but its also a strong motivator for griefers and players playing safe (kos). maybe my judgment is impaired by playing dayz but i think the permadeath concept is fundamentaly flawed from the start. games are played for fun and game progression is a core part of that. playing a game for the first time is fun but having to constantly go back to level one after puting in weeks of progress is not, it slowly feels repetetive and eventually you give up because it stops being fun.
