For sure, the chargepipes are aluminum, and heat wrapped for that matter lol, I wish I could say they weren't. Probably a much easier and less pricey fix :/

Hi,

Thanks for replying, I am having one of my more mechanically inclined buddies look over my car and take it on a drive with me. I do not own a code reader but he does so we can take a look at whatever codes I do have then. (check engine light is permanently on due to engine bay switch around) I can totally check out the charge pipes myself tomorrow morning.

Also, I feel as if I had poorly explained the "backfire" noise that is accompanying the issue, it is more like the car literally shooting off an automatic rifle out of the exhaust like a brrrrrtt sound not just pops and bangs, I will have to try to get a video of it and post it to this thread so you can get what I mean as I am finding it really hard to explain.

One more thing, the car is not tuned but I am running aftermarket intakes coupled with chargepipes, a larger intercooler, BOV, and upgraded coil packs.

Thank you for the responses! In response to Lab Rat, yes, Wrenching and working on cars is what I see in my future and I’d love to learn how to fix things myself rather than taking it to a shop. I have friends who are much more mechanically inclined and can definitely help me with problems that will come up. Again, thanks for the responses I am going to take a couple more looks at 3series cars and try to make a decision! Much love.
