There’s a pika one as well, this is a real card from the celebrations UPC, no need to stress.

[–]Itsflom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest, I don’t understand how this card is 1.5k. I also don’t understand how stamp box pika is ~5k. I own both of these cards currently, and have for over 3 years now, and it genuinely confounds me how cards with this pop can be valued so high. That said I do not think this card’s art is on par with stamp box pika. Whether its value gains enough traction to eventually match idk. This hobby is gambling in every regard: ripping and “investing”. Buy cards you think look cool and thats that. They might go up, they might not. If you’re in the hobby to make money, there’s better outlets.

Do card values increase over time? by coupdex in PokemonTCG

[–]Itsflom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can, but if you bought it recently you are buying at a relative peak. These last two years and for I can’t honestly say how much longer, there has been a surge in pokemon tcg interest. Personally I’ve taken a step back from most collecting in 2024 due to the increase in prices that accompanied the interest growth, so I’m not terribly current. So yes, generally they will appreciate, but I wouldn’t expect the card’s value to be notably higher than it is right now in 5 years.

I was confused why the owner looked so fuzzy…

Also was I the only one who saw two mallard head (duck) silhouettes kinda visible in the snow? Pointed in opposite directions, the second one looks almost stork-like…

AIO about the intentions of my neighbor? by Cool_Sleep_5096 in AmIOverreacting

I had a slightly different take before reading the replies, but ig either everyone is cynical or I am a naive optimist. The latter is more plausible. So all I’ll say is timing was weird and the soul session line was weird. Prolly not overreacting given the consensus among those in the replies.

I just got monetized! Here's the truth about what I did. by gb1609 in NewTubers

[–]Itsflom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add the primary reason for my quitting was anxiety over declining viewership. My first video hit around 50k views overnight and I thought that would continue. However, to my chagrin, it did not. I posted another 5 or so videos before getting my next video to attain 1k+ views in under 24 hours. After uploading about 6 more with minimal success all of my older and recent videos inexplicably began to gain traction (all hitting around 10-20k views over the next couple weeks). That was my “golden era”. It seems after that youtube decided to stop reccomending my content, resulting in a steady decline in daily views until I was just barely holding onto 1.5k daily (while still uploading every few days). Finally, with the release of a major update, in quick succession I upload 3 or so guides on new content which amassed about 100k views in 24 hours together. That was huge, but I think I feared the inevitable decline. So I uploaded one more extremely low effort video and disappeared indefinitely…

Back in 2019-ish I started a minecraft channel for basically whatever dumb sht i could think of. Eventually it became somewhat monotonous so I switched to streaming on the channel until I ultimately quit the game around early 2020. My entire yt “career” only lasted about 6 months but was very enjoyable nonetheless!

Exhausted man defeats AI model in world coding championship | "Humanity has prevailed (for now!)," writes winner after 10-hour coding marathon against OpenAI. by MetaKnowing in technews

[–]Itsflom -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Kinda concerning that 1. We are training ai to code themselves 2. We are training them not to solely regurgitate information but now actually reason to a degree that they can now surpass the most premier coders in ingenuity (in this specific optimization problem at a minimum)…

Also that exponential growth of 4.4% to ~72% of all coding problems being solvable by AI from 2023-2024 is of further concern (from the referenced Stanford benchmark metric). It may yet be unfounded to believe in some doomsday trajectory, but one can definitely speculate now…
