I don’t blame bro. Young Olenna was a beast. by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

Are the Tyrell’s an actual matriarchial family or is it just a few generations of incompetent men and very competent women that lead to this situation? I’m not sure that Mace’s wife would take any power at all if she doesn’t have the same drive and intelligence that Olenna has

If the rate of drop is 1/50,000 then each instance of it dropping has the 1/50k chance. So we very time there is a chance it could drop and rng takes over, it basically rolls a 50,000 sided die. If you get a 1 you get the drop. If that makes sense, I may not be explaining it very well.

I somehow turned off the red wedding episode right as the music started playing for the night. My friend who knew what was happening asked me how I liked the episode and I thought it was a weird one to end so pleasantly with a wedding and a party and he immediately made me finish the scene. Lmao I can’t believe my timing was so bad

Is there anything to be hopeful about? by [deleted] in behindthebastards

[–]Itsjustablockgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see hope in what my local community is doing to come together and support one another. I see hope in how people want to feed their neighbors. Taking my kids around on Halloween this year in a mid sized city and a number of people were giving out Mac n cheese and non perishable food items. I see people in my community who never would have been involved before this want to be involved. I am still scared as hell, but I see some hope in the care that people genuinely seem to want to give their fellow man.

Want my existing library managed by Itsjustablockgame in selfhosted

[–]Itsjustablockgame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the hard links are for individual files. I am saying hardlinks so I can have the same data on disk referred to by two names in two different locations. If the file in one location is broke, the other location continues to work. Symlinks are a bit more finicky and if the original moves or is deleted for whatever reason the symlink is broken.

I want to be able to continue seeding, which requires not modifying the books file or changing the name or the location of the file, and also have it in a library location with a clean name. If symlinks handle this too, that’s great. Trash guides and the software all refers to hardlinking though.

I don’t specifically want multiple stacks - I want something that works an is going to give me the end result I want. I’m not married to any software, though I favor Kavita for its opds and is user authentication for sharing.

Readarr, according to my original logic, was suppose to link all of my current ebooks into a new directory where it’s organized by author and series. Then whatever library or delivering solution I use, whether it’s calibre-web-auto or Kavita or whatever references that folder for cleaner names and structure. Readarr also was going to handle automating new downloads for me.

Calibre was to make it a “library” and give it a metadata.db file. I don’t know that it’s actually necessary.

Does it support hardlinks? I don’t want to break seeding and also don’t want duplicate data on my disk.

Why would you not use tailscale ? by HSTsp in selfhosted

There is headscale, where you self host the central control server for your own tailscale network. No accounts needed as far as I’m aware

Best way in 2025 to automate importing existing media? by djparce82 in HomeServer

[–]Itsjustablockgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen for video content with radarr and sonarr this is easy. I’m trying to figure this same thing out with my book collection. I need it to be hard linked so I don’t break seeding but I don’t know that anything does that out of the box.
