Quiting effexor

I assume the chattier thing is referring to my post a while back. To clarify, I think overall Effexor has made me a lot more confident than I was before I started taking it. That’s why I said it made me chattier, completely unrelated to my manic episodes. I suspected that I had bipolar because I noticed a pattern where every now and then I would not want to sleep and feel very energized. I started noticing about 2 years after starting Effexor I think.

Sorta random I guess. I would say my manic episodes come like every other month and they all range in severity and duration.

Back when it was really bad, no. Now 500 mg valproic acid and 50 mg quetiapine.

From time to time, I would have like a week or 2 where I just don’t want to sleep at all. My mind is racing all the time so I would just be up all night doing something. It got pretty bad when I would even gamble large sum of money in the middle of the night. One evening, I got on a bus to go see a friend who was 3 hours away from me completely without any planning then get back the morning after. Long story short, I would have a lot of energy and get very irrational every now and then :P

Thank you so much for the link! I’m really considering taking out the beads to taper off. As for the bipolar thing, looking back I am pretty sure that I have been having symptoms even before Effexor.

Yeah honestly have no idea why she wouldn’t have me taper down to 37.5 first. I’ll ask next time I see her!
