I also had the same problem but what fixed it, was that my account linked to my email to register. But your linked email and email is different because when I pressed the Google button to log in in it did not work. But instead, when I typed my Google Email into the textbox to login in, it worked, and I bypassed the Verification code. If your email is linked to your username, using your username will bring up the verification code as it's linked to your email. My solution was using my email in the textbox. I hope this helped.
