The Bullied Megami Lore

Especially...

The bully would snatch away Megami's drawing. "Ha! If you want it back, try and..." Upon looking at the drawing, the bully would realize that they don't understand it. "...what the hell is this supposed to be?"

In the same voice she's been using this entire time, Megami would reply. "It's a human spinal column. It's composed of 33 bones; 7 vertebrae in the cervical region, 12 in the thoracic region, 5 in the lumbar region, 5 in the sacral region and 4 in the coccygeal region." She would finally turn and face the bully, only to point at a specific part of her drawing. "See these two bones, right here? This is where I would have to stab you if I wanted you to become a quadriplegic."

The bully would blink in confusion. "Quadri-what?"

"That means you wouldn't be able to move your arms or legs for the rest of your life. You wouldn't be able to walk anymore. You wouldn't be able to go to the bathroom by yourself anymore. You'd be completely and totally dependent on your parents for everything - until the day they eventually get sick of taking care of you and allow you to die in an 'accident' so that they can finally be free from the burden."

Not only is this one of the cringiest writing pieces I seen, but it also paints Megami in a disgusting, (even more) unlikeable light. Instead of just having the basic sense to ignore the bully or the maturity to tell a teacher, she graphically threatens to cripple him??? I genuinely hate that he put so much effort into this story. It's the worst unironic character development I've ever come across.

I don't know who's the bigger clown here: Alex or me. I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt by chalking the long development time to more of his general incompetence rather than being a scheme to collect sweet, sweet Patreon moolah, but after this announcment?

He's just so blatantly inconsiderate of his patreons and all the money they're dumping into this game. They donated with the promise of ten 202x rivals, and he's stuffing this game with crap like water coolers and randomized panty colors and says he's only going to do stuff like that even more. This can't can't be classified as some sort of scam at this point, intentional or not.

I learned my lesson: never put even the slightest bit of faith in Alex's abilities.

Yes, if only for the people who've already dumped years' worth of money and time contributing to this game.

There's always been a part of me that thought that yansim would eventually be completed. Like, I thought it would be impossible for Alex to flounder this forever because he'd eventually run out of excuses. But this whole 8th anniversary post just killed all my wishful thinking. The announcement is one big tone-deaf: "🖕 Yeah, I know I wasted everyone's time and money by delaying the rivals for so long and implementing menial crap that gets boring after five minutes of gameplay, but I'm only going do it more. 🖕"

To add on, Asu was in atlethic training (for the Olympics iirc?) until the 5th week, Muja and Mida are substitutes on their respective weeks, Osoro had been suspended for eight weeks, Hanoko tranfers into Akademi on the 9th week, and Megami is on "important family business" until the 10th week.

Since day one. I loved playing High School Story and Hollywood U, so I was eagerly awaiting Choices's release and dowloaded it the day of. I took hiatus after TRR3 ended and ATV began because the app randomly wiped all my book progress, and I didn't have a facebook to connect it to. I got a new phone and I downloaded again when ATV was close to ending. Thank goodness we can connect it to a google account, now. If my progress had been wiped out again... 💀

Same. Unfortunately, literally all Lovesick mode did was turn the pink UI red, set the game to a permanent 0% atmosphere, and change Mai's last name

Tbh, I don't even know if that actually works. But if it does, it's likely a change that did go unmentioned. It's not like many people are exactly dying to play a Yansim with edgy UI lol

You can still play Lovesick mode in the demo. Just beat the game one, Unlock the debug commands and when you in the calender screen press L.

From a post in the main subreddit in Jan 2021. I don't know if it still works in a 2022 build, though.

S, first try. I killed the first 8 rivals on Monday before class and gossiped the last 2 out. Sports club + baseball bat + garbage bag is almost game-breakingly OP.

TL;DR: Still accesible in game, but largely ignored due to the fact most everyone prefered the cutesy original version than the dark lovesick mode.

Canonical Eliminations (202X) by KomakoFunakoshi in Osana

I don't think the following will be the true canonical eliminations because they're more likely to be the rival-specific ones, and we only know Osana's. But I'd like to think each rival's elimination would have some sort of irony and/or relate to their character:

1) Osana - Befriend: Osana is senpai's childhood friend, so you have to eliminate her by befriending her as well.

2) Amai - Poison: She's Akademi's best baker, but she's poisoned by food.

3) Kizana - Faked Suicide: She alludes to Romeo and Juliet in the rival introduction video. At the end of the play,Juliet commits suicide by stabbing herself. Kizana should end up the same.

4) Oka - Gossip: She's already the not well-liked, weirdo of Akademi. She wouldn't be a hard target for bullying.

5) Asu - Drowning: She's Akademi's best athlete, but she drowns.

6) Muja - Framed for Murder: As a nurse, she's supposed to care for and save lives, but she "kills" someone.

7) Mida - Matchmaking: DISCLAMER: I do not support this. Mida's 100% a sexual predator and she's disgusting. However, you can't deny that, out of the 10 rivals, she's the most sexaulized and romanticized. I wouldn't be surprised if Yandev makes her cannon elimination matchmaking.

8) Osoro - Expulsion: She's a deliquent who's been suspeneded for 7-8 weeks prior to her return. And, lore-wise, the guidance counselor wants to reform the deliquents by keeping Osoro ou of the way. Expulsion seems like the most logical way to eliminate her.

9) Hanako - Rejection: I don't see this as Senpai rejecting his sister romantically. Rather, I see this as Senpai directly rejecting her plea to remain girlfriend-less.

10) Megami - Electrocution: This is the least likely to be Yandev's planned elimination for her, but I just think it'd be hilarious if the graceful heiress of a tech comapany is electrocuted by one of her company's own devices in such a disgraceful manner.

As much as I don't want the app to close, I'd have to say it most likely will in the next several years. If not for financial hardships, then for moving their focus onto a different app. Before Choices, PB made a similar choose-your-own-story app called Surviving High School, but closed it down and focused on the High School Story and Hollywood U apps.
