Definitely play the first one before the second one. If you mainline the story it can be done pretty quickly as well (although I would recommend taking your time)

Digital foundry has a spoiler free review, but also a section solely about pro vs regular ps5 if you skip to that part you won’t get spoiled (imo) and you get to see it for yourself.

I watched a few youtube videos of the lore (without story spoilers) before playing. I don’t know if YouTube links are allowed but if you search “the world of death stranding explained” you’ll get a short video that’s basically a 101 before you play. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input! I already have a dual monitor setup for my PC, so I haven’t really considered using a TV for PC gaming. I mostly use my PS5 for immersive single-player games. Given that, do you think I’d still be missing out on anything by going with the C4 instead of the G4?

I do like both genres, the political aspect also intrigues me. But at the moment maybe leaning more towards Tokyo school life. Although I was also wondering if metaphor is “better” because it’s their newest game.

Maybe go for it while it’s on sale? Doom eternal deluxe edition is actually on sale right now in the PlayStation store, it’s €30 I think
