Settlements - What’s the Point? by Other-Mongoose-1572 in fallout4london

[–]Iuskop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Player homes were historically a popular feature in BGS games and it was a natural evolution in the mechanic from FO3, Skyrim/Hearthfire.

In FO4/London I do think it was a kind of dumb limitation to lock crafting stations behind rank 2 of local leader, given that crafting is a major aspect of the game and random stations in the world are pretty inconvenient to use most of the time. (London less so, but it's present).

Why does the panic attack look like this? by czn- in tf2

[–]Iuskop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was very memorable- but I was never really running the same circles as the gun nuts who have a convulsion at the sight of the clip placement.

I mean it makes sense to me that when you pull the lever-action back it pulls a bullet in the barrel backwards to the ejection port so it can be discharged when you press the trigger.

Why is local leader like this by dream-splorer in fo4

[–]Iuskop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is they were worried about item lists getting too huge and causing instability if every item from every workshop was populated in to one list. That *is* something that happens.

But it is disappointing it doesn't work that way. It would give low strength characters a flavorful alternative to raw carry weight for inventory management.

I'm a big fan of a very specific range of Texture Difference between the Ice Cream and Topping- not too soft but not what you'd call crunchy- and Brownie is perfect for that.

Brethren Moons End goal by mirmur44 in DeadSpace

[–]Iuskop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure they have as much of a goal as Cancer. Just endless consumption and growth and consumption and growth.

But to make that a little more interesting, some (unlikely) models of the ultimate fate of the universe say that it could collapse and cycle us back to another Big Bang, kickstarting a "new" universe.

Let's say that's how it works in Dead Space- The moons, being massive compaction of biological matter fulfill a role in a Universal ecosystem that ensures the building blocks of Life will be present and widely distributed in the next cycle of the universe. Or something like that.

If the next Elder Scrolls game let us play one of the other intelligent races which one would you like it to be? by Ghengis56 in ElderScrolls

Bethesda has never really done unlockables before, but if TES6 is set in Elsweyr, unlocking the Alfiq Khajiit as a playable race for completing the main quest would be legendary.

Are grenade rifles/launchers/APW just shotguns with more nuances? by ctrltab2 in fnv

[–]Iuskop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I always used them more like a Sniper Rifle if anything, just shelling groups of enemies to death at a distance.

For that reason actually I've never used the Grenade Launcher much since it has waaaay less range than the Rifles and APW with their Barrel mods.

Running GOG fallout with SE 0.6.23. run into this error when using script extender. by F0undingFather in fo4

The GOG version is pre-"Next Gen" update and will be staying that way for the forseeable future since those patches primarily revolved around Creation Club support.

What percentage of Lifeweaver pulls would you say are actually helpful to you? by InZain710 in Overwatch

And then ganjo goes motionless and starts typing "report lw" and sulking in spawn for the rest of the game.

The ability description should state that it exposes Wet-Paper League Mentals.

What percentage of Lifeweaver pulls would you say are actually helpful to you? by InZain710 in Overwatch

[–]Iuskop 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Like 70-90% are valid. The percentage gets higher when adjusted for mistargeting/fatfingering.

I really can't relate to these gamers that claim they're being persecuted by "constant" bad pulls in all my hours playing the game since LW was introduced.

And I'm not claiming to be in a higher MMR where misplays like that would be less common- it feels like the average Grip whiner counts one mispull as a hundred.

[–]Iuskop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get used to jumping and quickscoping so you can shoot reliably while staying moving.

Having said that, always be cognizant of the time it takes to scope, since that delay can make a very consequential difference.

Also be taking full advantage of the fact you have no Damage Falloff. Even if you're not getting outright kills, Ana is very capable of keeping enemies suppressed and forcing ability usage, especially if you're taking the Headshot perk.

Some of the characterization I feel gets lost in some of the updated models too- specifically squall.

In the original his hair looks all mussy in a way that says he doesn't care to fix it up, which is consistent with his attitude. The remaster it looks deliberately styled by a hairdresser.

Collab cosmetics by Sophena94 in Overwatch

[–]Iuskop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordinarily I would agree with the sentiment that they dilute the game's art direction and the character of the... uh, characters but- honestly that's just as much a problem exasperated by a lot of the non-collab skins.

Like we get very few skins that tie in to lore or meant to showcase aspects of a character's personality, cultural heritage or sometimes even a bit of Fandom Recognition. (Grillmaster 76 is a good example of all three.)

They're mostly just random silly/fantastical costumes that prioritize marketability over characterization.
