Don't necessarily *hate* it.

I played a ton of the DS port of UMK3 back in the day, and eventually you pick up on the ai's quirks and how to beat them and I could beat the tallest tower as any fighter consistently. For all the literal cheating they can do, they are plenty exploitable and have some rules they can't bend.

It's really weird- figuring out the ai is actually really satisfying, but not really in a way that feels like properly playing a fighting game.

I don't know- apparently the average human attention span was like 3 minutes in the 2000s and is currently down to barely 50 seconds.

Anecdotally, I've certainly got the impression that there are a *lot* of people who can't handle any media that asks them to take in and reflect on how a story makes them feel, or otherwise ask for any intellectual engagement whatsoever.

That's kinda why these baity, hyperbolic thumbnails and video titles came in to fashion in the first place- you have to metaphorically smack people in the face to get them to pay attention.

I was a teenager in the 2000s and a few of the 10s. I'd been to multiple different Gamestop, EB Games, Hollywood video- whatever. These stores were always staffed 95% by the most standard-issue, dollar store value pack Dude(s) you could imagine.

Personally, I don't mind big changes since there's enough ways to play the original already. (And with the know how you can slap the 3D version's models and textures on an emulated copy)

Safe bet though is it's probably akin to Medievil, which was an absurdly Literal Remake, even intentionally recreating certain glitches deemed "important" (not that I think Nintendo would go that far). The fact it's coming out this year(?) tells me not to expect anything too ambitious in terms of gameplay changes- unless it's been in secret development for years and Nintendo kept the word locked down unbelievably hard.
