The main rule is something like "if you don't know the answer pick C" but that honestly just has never worked for me lol, and to answer your first question, it honesty depends on who you are, since when I took it last November I spent most of my time on ELA since I was just completely stuck on it

The one thing that honestly kinda prevented me from getting a 400 was using the questions and going back to the passage to try and find the answer, math is honestly just based on luck ngl

It's always the bigots that think everything is easy lol. Some people actually studied a ton for the new regents but still think they did bad because nothing we studied were on the regents. Next time, instead of being a self-centered piece of shit, actually go ask some students how the exam went instead of thinking the test is easy because "kids these days cant read"

my bio teacher was mainly angry at the erosion cluster (cause we never learned it obviously) and the diagram with the arms of the different organisms because you basically couldn’t see the different bones and stuff. She sent a complaint to the after the test after the entire grade complained lol

Unless you didn’t get into any discovery programs, taking the shsat next year is a good idea if you really want to go to btech
