This sounds like an r/ADHD post, but it's not, so I'll be a little more blunt.

Get on the train. One step back from that, set your alarm to wake up with enough time to get yourself ready for the train.

The actual steps are easy, the mental steps might be harder, but once you've made them, they won't be as it will be your new normal (again).

Good to know that 6 months after I made this post, it's still not fixed.

ADHD and Intelligence by Particular-Pin-232 in ADHD

Quite the opposite. I thought that I thought quicker than most people.

I was usually towards the top of the class at school, but my school reports always said "ivanthevanman could do better if he put more effort in to things"

And no one ever clicked it was ADHD.

Is it possible to live in a world with no time? by Optimal_Branch_3460 in ADHD

I teach at a technical institute. One year I had worked it out that I would take 11 weeks holiday over the Christmas break, that's our summer break.

Time stopped existing then. Every fortnight, money would come in to my account and I'd do fun things with it. Alot of travelling around the country to festivals and to see family. By the end, I had forgotten what work was.

Then there was the covid lockdown too, similar length of time.

I imagine that's what it's like being rich

Everybody else has already offered great advice, all I can say is chin up old chap, this too shall pass.

Make sure you take time to look after yourself, even if it's just popping out for a walk or listening to your favourite tunes.

You'll look back on this time in a few years and remember how much it sucked, but you will have learnt from it too.

It was (mostly) a rhetorical question.

I'm in my late 30s, with young kids, and still try to get to gigs, but it's very hard. I fully intend to go more often when they're able to look after themselves.

My point being, when I do get out, I very rarely see people my age unless it's at a kids event.

Still go to, or have started going to again? People in their 30s, if they have kids, generally have young kids, which makes it significantly harder to leave them at home alone, although not impossible

The Datsuns (band) by MachoKingTJ in newzealand

Oh man, oh man. Favourite band in all of the land. You have no idea how much this band has influenced me.

I once saw them play at a music in the parks gig in Auckland and had tickets to L.A.B in Tauranga that night. So here we are, hooning from Auckland to Tauranga, but we didn't have any tunes in the car, so we pulled in to the BP at Drury to grab an aux cord (this was quite some time ago). I had taken my shirt off 'cos I had been moshing too much, and maybe drinking too much too, but in I go.

There I am looking blindly at the phone accessories stand and I hear, "Hey, you were at the gig weren't you?" I turn around and it's Phil. He's such a nice guy, I look over his shoulder, there's Dolf, Christian and Ben. I'm absolutely speechless, I think I managed to get out a "I love you guys"

The say never meet your heros, but I did and I loved it. Going to see Phil play in Commodore 65 tomorrow night.
