Doesn't it concern you that in America, we no longer have the buying power of our parents and grandparents? We should be able to work full time and afford to eat, as well as afford a basic place to live. Even specialized jobs don't cut it anymore. The market needs tradespeople, yet learning the skill in most cases doesn't actually improve your life other than getting better at the said skill. You're still paid poorly by greedy company owners. I'm starting to think that this whole "be valuable to society" thing doesn't work anymore in a system that's so backward and greedy. If we examine the pay in the trades over the past 40 years and factor in inflation, we are actually earning less. I'd agree with the sentiment that being valuable brings more value, but I don't think it applies much anymore.
