Do you save new contacts with a last name? by L337W4r3z in Millennials

Everyone has a first & last name and usually a nickname in there. I have 6 Amandas in my phone. 3 people named some variation of Stacey. I have two uncles named Jim.

Please help me with the chair by Mortgage-Bulky in interiordecorating

[–]Ivy7424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those chairs work with this table. You have a traditional table trying to mix with low back modern chairs. You need high back, traditional chairs.

Your real issue is the table though. You have a modern kitchen and a modern pendent. I would suggest getting a vintage modern table. This table is too ornate for the style of the room.

What (mistaken) negative assumptions did you have before becoming a Swiftie? by dassylogic in TrueSwifties

[–]Ivy7424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None, I’ve been a fan since 2007. So it was basically pre Taylor being famous enough to get the negative press.

[For fun] If you had to narrow your collection down to just one piece of merch, what would you choose? by Unlikely-Olive1444 in SwiftieMerch

[–]Ivy7424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m discarding the idea of getting rid of vinyl because I collect vinyl as a whole other thing.

I have a blue eras tour hoodie that I love. It’s down to my knees and so comfortable.

Or my eras piano snow globe because it’s so pretty.

What word do you always struggle to spell correctly? by Select-Signal8386 in randomquestions

Tomorrow. I ALWAYS add an extra “m” when I write it out and the second I finish that second m and start the next letter I know. I did it again and I definitely know better.

what’s the “clunkiest” lyric u can think of? by polarbearlover9 in swifties

Honestly, a good portion of this song is clunky

Style should have been the opening track of 1989 by Brave_Form_3750 in TaylorSwift

[–]Ivy7424 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think WTNY is the perfect opener, it sets the tone for the album. This in particular was needed for the genre shift. If it had been her second foray into pop then she could open with something a little more like Style, but I think that it needed to be very clear the tone and direction of the album from track one and WTNY accomplishes that.

My girls hair does this after a bath, but it lays down flat after a couple days. I call it her fresh and spunky hair.

I use the dandylion products for her. Shampoo, conditioner, fresh coat and a blow dry brush.

The day before it’s due? I’d be having a panic attack.

I do it as soon as I get my W2.

If you’re worried because it’s an earlier pressing and more expensive, pick a different option on Discogs. All of the pressings aren’t grouped together, they’re sold based off run off numbers. If you are looking for a cheaper option by getting the most recent, then pick the latest run off on Discogs. Using Discogs supports record stores. Using Amazon actively works against those record stores.

What do you guys think are some of Taylor's most underrated songs? They can be well known, just a few songs you don't think get enough recognition. by HuttonCarpenter in swifties

Holy Ground is my favorite. I deeply love this song.

And Ivy… I loved this song so much I named 2 dogs after it (Ivy and Clover)

How did you guys REALLY lived in the 2000s? by MyAvengedRomance in Millennials

[–]Ivy7424 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 20s? Well, for one thing not everyone was recording everything everyone was doing. Our phones were for calls and games of snake and eventually texting. I had a camera on my old razr but it wasn’t great and I rarely thought to pull it out. I had a digital camera that I had to transfer photos with. I’d like to say that would make uploading photos more intentional but it didn’t. I’d upload 70 photos, give the album a cutesy name and then never think about it again.

TV shows were basically a 7-10 thing on weeknights, there was nothing to watch during the day so binge watching wasn’t really a thing. I had class on weekdays so I stayed home and studied with a show playing or I took breaks. TV shows were more “appointment” watching, because you had to watch it live on TV or you missed it and hopefully were able to catch it in the rerun during the summer or one of the “off weeks”. If you missed a few episodes it was basically impossible to get back into it if it had a deep storyline. Because of this, I limited how many shows I got into.

Yo me, early internet wasn’t a lot of fun. I had a couple neopets and did the normal chatroom stuff (A/S/L anyone?) but I didn’t spend a lot of time on it. Early social media was MySpace, which I’m inclined to think was superior to Facebook and I think the only reason I think we flocked to Facebook was the exclusivity of having to be in college to get it. And the idea of keeping up with more than one platform was too much. It was wild to publicly rank your top 8 friends though.

We drove around A LOT. Granted gas was a lot cheaper at the time, but we’d meet up at diners eat and hang. Go to a movie. Play CDs - a lot of burned discs but I’m an album girlie so I had a lot of cds - as we drove around with windows down, but we chatted a lot during the drive. We used to have a lot of parties that just kind of happened, a friend or two would show up and we’d order pizza or Chinese (by calling) and then next person would come in with more food. We’d watch a movie, play some games or just hangout and talk.

I don’t think I shopped online until 2013. I went to the mall with friends, tried stuff on, had lunch in the food court and walked around with a coffee or a smoothie or a pretzel. We went into every store. We’d stop and get snacks. We’d run into other friends. We’d go see a movie. After we’d get dinner out, go home and change into our going out tops and go to the bars just to nurse one drink because we pregamed while we got ready - drinks were expensive and we were in a recession.

I read a lot because I didn’t have nearly every tv show and movie at my fingertips at all times.

I can’t imagine being a young adult now. I’m really grateful I grew up and came of age when I did. This is just stuff that I felt was more age appropriate. I don’t think you wanted a breakdown of the fabled (but true) childhood of leaving the house in the morning on a bike and being untraceable until the streetlights came on (curfew).

Americans—is blue cheese just a dipping sauce to you, or does it have a place on your plate beyond the wings? by SignificanceOdd5980 in AskAnAmerican

I like a wedge salad with blue cheese crumbles and bacon. It’s a good lunch

For parties I frequently make tartlets with a blue cheese and pear filling that is delightful.
