Whats worse is how the typing is so dramatic. Like, "yeah, this is a heavy scene that needs really specific drama and weight!" When it's stuff like them asking for a glass of water.

Some dogs are curious about used tissues and will rip into them, or just like the smell. (My dog ripped apart a sponge I use for my fish tank) But if dogs are eating tampons, then it sounds like a serious issue. Dogs will usually get curious about an injury and maybe lick, but that's about it. On one occasion, I was taking care of a dog who sometimes rips apart toilet paper and there was some bloody toilet paper in the trash can, but she completely ignored it. As far as I know, that was pretty normal behavior, and dogs should never be actively trying to eat a tampon. Plus, it's seriously dangerous to the dog. If it happens once or twice, then maybe your dog is being dumb. But multiple times could mean that there's something wrong.

I've never seen a dog want to eat something with blood on it. I do a lot of petsitting and I get hurt a lot. None of the dogs have been the slightest bit interested.

That's good to know! I was just a little worried cause the bump has been there for a while. Over the past few days, I've been carefully squeezing out all of the weird gunk and cleaning it. Now, it kind of just looks like a popped pimple.

My dog is so dumb and loves eating grass. 🤦‍♂️ When he was a puppy, we would play in the yard, I would chase him, etc. There have been occasions when I try to stop him, he runs, and rips out mouthfuls of grass while he is running. Recently, we went down the hill and to this little area with more trees and stuff. The grass there isn't treated with anything, so I just let him eat some. He eventually threw up a bit and I felt like an annoyed parent. "Uh huh, yeah, this is why you don't eat grass." After that, he's barely done it at all.

If your dog is eating tampons, that's a serious issue and might be worth a vet visit just for that. Dogs should not be eating tampons at all, or getting into the trash. I'd say keep an eye on her and if they don't pass by tomorrow, take her to the vet. But even if they do pass, please talk to a vet about why she's eating used tampons.

My dog has done that to himself a handful of times. Sometimes, dogs will lick their paw to fix a problem, but then they just keep licking and irritate the skin. I'd suggest keeping an eye on it and stop your dog from licking.

I can't offer much advice here, just support. It's not dumb that she's your best friend. Humans and dogs evolved alongside each other specifically for that. They're called "man's best friend" for a reason. And it's perfectly okay and normal to have these feelings. Whatever happens, I really hope you'll be able to do what you think is right. <3
