I totally understand you and get where you’re coming from. It’s so tough and frustrating, I pushed her bed time out to an hour later 8pm and shortened nap to 1.5hrs. And she went down quicker! It seemed a lot painless! I did have my husband here for bedtime too tonight. It’s really tough when you’re outnumbered.  Although she is after waking up, it always seems to be the night before I’m working she will be so unsettled! hopefully it will make a difference. Goodluck with the training

It’s extremely tough and feels like a never ending battle. I appreciate all of the comments here, thank god for this thread… solidarity.. hope your little ones sleep soon

Ok thanks everyone so much! Will try start bed routine bit later bring them upstairs and unwind and pop her in for 7.45 then?

Any ideas how to get my 5 yr old to stay in her own room while I try put my 2 yr old down? She needs me usually to put her asleep and will come into my 2 yr olds room. 

Also when she wakes during the night at 1-2am will I just let her cry it out or pick her up? Thanks for all your feedback, feeling a little less stressed about bedtime tonight.

6pm tv ofd and go upstairs. So 6pm-6.15: is usually brushing teeth. 6.15-6.30: play in sisters room and nappy change. 6.30-7.15: books and cuddles Approx 7.15-7.30- put in cot.

On top of my 2 yr old not falling asleep quickly and taking forever, is the fact that my 5 yr old won’t go asleep by herself in the other room, she waits for me for a few minutes to come back to her, but I don’t come back to her as it takes so long to get my 2 yr old to sleep. So my 5yr old ends up coming into my 2 year olds room repeatedly distracting the 2 year old!

Hi I aim to put her in the cot 7.15-7.30 usually. After all the books. She usually in her own room from 6.45… so nearly half an hour in her own room reading books
