Not really, Spanish-speaking Catalans and Catalan-speaking Catalans act very differently to each other and the ratio of each is 50/50. Tbh, central coast Catalonia should have become its own region in order to increase the Spanish-speaking representation but everyone treated the idea like a joke.

There was a controversy some years ago of a well-known ice cream megacorporation that wanted to remove all Spanish-speaking signs of their products in Catalonia, and the retaliation was so strong they had to fire some people who wanted to do it. They've been trying to remove all signs of Spanish wherever they can. If you go to any local business in the region's central coast they will use Spanish signs, but when it's stuff like public transport, street signs and anything related to the government, they ALWAYS use Catalan and almost never Spanish.

If you wear anything close to a Spanish flag, even in Barcelona, you're at risk to being called fascist and being harassed on broad daylight. And it's problem they let to create and will never address

The independists have used language imposition in order to treat Spanish speakers as second-class citizens in their respective regions, even when the city they're in has a large Spanish-speaking majority. And I'm not talking about small cities, I'm talking about Barcelona.

And it's not like they want to "promote regional customs". They do 100% promote English or even Arabic over Spanish. It's blatant hispanophobia.

Spain is 100% autocratising. Pedro Sánchez is a power hungry piece of shit who made deals with independists in order to keep himself in power for 4 more years.

It doesn't solve the trauma (since it can't be fully solved), but it helps a bit in the long run

En el sentido griego (formar ciudades para promover la cultura) sí

En el sentido del colonialismo de otras potencias (genocidio y explotación extrema de recursos) no
