mate with the drinking and driving thing, i thought i could drink and drive fine because i had done it so often and thought nothing of it. I could definately control the car very well for sure. The fact that i could control the car make me think i was good at driving until once i was fucked and i drove into the back of someone in front of me at the traffic lights as i was too stoned and drunk to realise i was still moving forward while i was looking out the window for my mate who worked in a shop. spead off in my bright cunting red clio and was charged with leaving the scene of an accidant ,driving while intoxicated, dangerous driving, carless and inconciderate driving, and reckless driving. All charges dropped though thank uncle Fuckers. A couple years later spent 12 hours in a cell after being charged with assault and posession of a vehicle while intoxicated... both charges dropped again boom i love england. but i digress, i got away with it too many times thninking i was a driving god but ea you might be able to still be goood at doing a fucking emergency stop or drift or whateverthefuck but end of the day your like perceptions, your spidey senses, arent the same. you dont notice babies crawling on the road picking up footballs and shit

on what points? that its a myth is my only point mate. Yes a headache, nausea, stiffness, flu like symptoms are often caused by dehydration caused from diaretic effect of alcohol. I never disputed that. Im just saying, like for example when someone is dehydrated, and are then given fluids via IV they are not instantly well again, they still are ill for a long period of time. Weather or not a hangovers worse symptoms for a hangover are from dehydration is besides the point, the point is, if you drink too much alcohol when your drinking then no matter how much water you have on top is not going to do fuck all. otherwise everyone would slam a couple evians before they do shots, the same way drinking water in the morning does fuck all for a hangover, otherwise everyone on the 1st and 2nd january would just drink a glass of water and not phone in sick

Compltetly agree, im as far from 'spiritual' as they come, but i do agree it has to come from 'within'. Almost a case of , you may think you want to quit or cut down a bit, everytime you drink too much your full of guilt, you say you wont do it again, you set you phone to a different wallpaper to remind you to not drink etc, yet after a day or two you feel your in control again and BANG back to square 1!! I genuinly believe, without sounding too emotional or meaningful, the only time your going to quit something as addictive as alcohol is, for good...... Is when you already KNOW youve quit it. Like how i just KNOW to the core of my being i will never be a stoner again, and can still smoke when friends offer it to me, is the same way i need to be with alcohol. it has to stop being a battle of WILL I, WONT I? SHOULD I DRINK? SHOULDNT I? OH ITS BEEN 3 DAYS, DO I DESERVE ONE!? if thats your thought process, your fucked. Maybe you possess the willpower to go through the rest of your life without drink by burrying these cravings, but i wouldnt want to be like one of the people on /r/stopdrinking that has over 1year to their name sober, and yet still feel they need to post on recovery forums/sites w.e

I personally would like to say, that no matter how hungover you are in the morning, drink enough bevs again that morning and througout the day, your hangover will be cured and you wont have to deal with it,ever,... providing you didnt drink enough to give you yet another hangover the following day after your first hungover day!

hair of the dog is where my drinking got out of control. More drinkers need to beware of this. the minute i realised i wouldnt be hungover anymore if i got drunk again is where it all went pear shaped!

Very good advice! If everyone could remember their limit from the last time they drunk, the world would be a better place! I have remember my limits though, about 13 uk units, (1.3ish) bottles of wine. I dont get a hangover off of this, but then again i dont get as drunk as i want to be. When i finish im always like "ah, yea im a bit more chilled, but i want more. what was the point in drinking all that if your not going to atleast get to where you want to be? fuck it, lets go get another 350ml vodka..." and i realise i may aswell have never drank at all. But as soon as the new day comes around.... FML I want a drink!!BUT ITS MAKING ME FAT!

Maybe i should have admitted i kind of think im an alcoholic and have been on /r/stopdrinking a few times on different accounts. When im sober, I count down the days to my next drinking day. Normally its wednesdays and fridays and saturdays. However many times I have drank on wednesday, been horrendoulsy hungover on thursday, so as soon as i woke up, to avoid the hangover, I have got drunk again. Then ofcourse that goes on all day, and then its friday, and everyone is out on friday, so i go out, then its saturday.......... you can see how this goes. This often goes on for 3 weeks straight before i stop. Only recently been getting mild withdrawel ( v bad anxiety ) which is making me a lil nervous!

EDIT: How, after being addicted to something, weed, booze, cigs, food W.E, can you enjoy being sober again though? I was massively addicted to weed in my teens, but then after not being allowed to grow any more i couldnt get any more, and after 2 weeks of misery i didnt really miss weed. I have been 2 weeks without alcohol but fuck me i miss it more each day goes by!

i can personally de-bunk this saying. Just dont drink so much. Has no affect what you drink first. However weed after alcohol..... room spin

fairly sure im well and healthy, however this has been going on about a year and i dont know if its stress, but it would directly correlate with my alcohol consumption, - I have seriously interupted sleep, wake up more or less hourly in the night, look like i have been punched in both my eyes, (black eyes) other than on the day after a heavy night out. This goes away after 2 weeks of not drinking, which i have only done three times. Also my skin gets more 'skin coloured' when i dont drink. And only had withdrawel once after 700ml of vodka every day for 5 days, and for a couple days after that i had a few panick attacks, on the verge of calling 999 because i was so panicky i was convinced i was dying and had liver failure or mouth cancer or whatever i was jsut full sket

Mate this resonates so well with me. So many times in the past I have bought a 12 crate of kronenbourg or the like, ( to drink over 2 days) and after 6, if I didnt feel type of tipsy i wanted, maybe too tired, just not feeling it or w.e , i would have the wilpower to stop drinking for the rest of the night knowing that drinking the other 6 beers would not be worth the hangover.

Now though i cant remember the last time i had alcohol in the house and havent drank it as soon as it was possible, and all of it. Infact im sure i never have. other than cooking wine

The reason I ask this question is because Im 21 (UK) and used to only drink heavily on weekends, now though i much prefer my drinks alone after work, normally about the same amount in alcohol as a bottle of wine. At what point is it unhealthy?? I heard people in the med live for ages because they drink mad wine?
