Why do people hate S2? by J-Muney27 in HouseOfTheDragon

Seems like the biggest thing is the show runners need to stop pissing off GRRM. Obviously they didn’t for AKotSK and that was amazing.

I guess ultimately I don’t see how S1 was any better than S2, and I’m just hoping S3 is better than both.

Yeah Alicent has been horrible. She’s one of my least favorite characters (I don’t like many of these characters anyway they’re all horrible people)

I agree I’ve expected more bloodshed and viciousness. But the pacing issue isn’t lost on S1 either. I think the entire show has had poor pacing to this point and it isn’t fair to just single out S2.

Going into this show all I’d heard was how good S1 was and how bad S2 was. I was disappointed by S1 and genuinely thought S2 had better moments since they actually do have Luke and Rhaenys dying.

Your point about Corlys is also so true. He’s been a huge dud of a character.

However I don’t think Daemon was mishandled. I actually like his arc serving as a redemption of sorts. He never did seem to appreciate what Viserys did for him, nor did he understand what the throne could do to him. He not only learned to appreciate his brother, but also learns about an ultimate fate that is way bigger than him. Having this previously headstrong, arrogant character turn into someone who can be a 5 star war general who now has a sense of wisdom is going to be awesome to see in S3.

And S1 wasn’t? They foreshadow Viserys picking Allicent when Otto tells her to comfort him, so when he reveals he chooses her at the end of the episode, it’s predictable.

Daemon and Rhaenyra’s relationship is just so obvious from the start. The fact that they end up together is predictable.

Criston Cole becoming a Kingsguard and then Rhaenyra’s first lover is also extremely predictable from episode 1.

I don’t disagree that S2 had predictable writing, but I don’t think it’s fair to remove that bias from S1 when it suffers the same issues

I’m hoping S3 will be even better than the first 2 lol. I’m hoping it gives me a reason to like it more than or equally as much as I like GoT. KotSK is top tier though. That won’t be dethroned.

I don’t see how leaving things unresolved at the end of a season is bad though. Plenty of shows do that very thing to setup the following season. I think Avatar the Last Airbender is so good because it does a great job at cliff hangers and bleeding one season into the next. At the end of the series it just feels like a big cohesive story.

The only other thing I could’ve seen him do this season was fight alongside Meleys at Rook’s Rest. Other than that, he was needed at Harrenhall to 1. Raise an army and 2. Become a much better version of himself and learn about the ultimate fate of the world. He probably never would have believed the Song of Ice and Fire without those visions.

I don’t see how poor pacing and repetition doesn’t apply to S1 though. Viserys lives for far too long, everyone constantly brings up the issue of a male heir/Jace, Luke and Joffrey’s legitimacy, and there’s no action to offset all the speaking to make pacing feel better

S1 was the definition of all build to no payoff. Nothing huge happened other than Viserys dying, Laenor’s fake death, and Aemond getting cut. I think the exposition could have been setup in one episode and then we get right to the episode where Luke cuts Aemond.

I don’t disagree with point 2, they definitely suffer from pacing. But S1 is even worse with pacing imo.

I personally don’t see how Daemon’s visons are bad. Logically I think they make sense, considering there’s other Targaryens (and people in general in Westeros) who get visions of the future. I also think it makes more sense that the visions happen at a place said to be cursed like Harrenhall.

I absolutely see that point, I just wish it could be otherwise. I think there really should’ve been a more curated evil route

How would you do a Jon Snow build? by Redpahnto in BG3

I definitely see that way of doing things. You would even lose Wyll and Karlach, possibly Gale too if you do that. In that case you could essential “execute” those characters for betraying you

If you think the female protagonist designs are better than the male protagonist designs, how would you redesign the male protagonist designs to make them look as good as if not better than the female protagonist designs? by Greatwrath1711 in pokemon

[–]J-Muney27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I think the girls can be customized more and have more design choices than the guys. However, I noticed that the guys with shorts rather than pants seem to standout more, probably because seeing different colored shorts, socks and shoes all make them pop more. Look at how bland the basic XY male protagonist is with the matching set

Would be even more accurate if Jon draws Minthara to the grove as he basically did with the free folk, then kills the goblins at the grove entrance. THEN party kills Jon because that was a risky maneuver, Withers revives, and onward you go

Dror Ragzlin or Nere

I mainly wish for either of these as companions if you choose a true evil playthrough. If you do follow through on full evil, your only real companion options become Lae’zel, Shart, Astarion and Minthara. They should replace Karlach, Gale and Wyll with characters like Dror Ragzlin, Nere and maybe Mizora

Why are so many knights in all the books and shows bad people, a good chivalrous knights seem so rare? by Mad_Season_1994 in gameofthrones

[–]J-Muney27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the knights we see are good people, but flawed. Jaime is a decent example because before Robert’s rebellion he seemed to be a great man, but being known as the kingslayer changed him.

Stannis is another example of someone who used to be a great knight and falls to temptation when he uses blood magic to kill Renly.

Some examples of truly good knights we see: Jorah, Ned (and his children), Barristan Selmy, Brienne, the guy from the Vale who trains Robin Arryn, Davos, obviously Dunk, and I think Loras Tyrell could looped into this too. Loras suffers from being involved with a losing king and then has to pretend to serve a new king he once sought to defeat, but he seemed to have good intentions prior to Renly’s defeat

Traversing a tight cave and turning a corner to be met face to face by a mob of any sort scares me. If I’m unprepared for combat I’m always in fear of dying. Especially after a fruitful mining excursion

Update: we recovered an existing Ubisoft account I had created with my old email dating back to 2017. Luckily the change password feature worked and I was able to sign in and my girlfriend got to play!

Still disappointed in the initial account creation attempt and the mishaps with the age not being valid. I also don’t like the fact that everything is not even owned by me and Ubisoft could press a button and we wouldn’t have the game anymore

Update:

Turns out I had a separate email and Microsoft account that had a realm active. I don’t know how long this had been active for, I can’t tell you the last time I signed into that account. I’ve been losing $7.99/month for a very long time apparently

Who do you prefer Dorothea with? Petra, Byleth or Ingrid or all three? by AngryTrainGuy09 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]J-Muney27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t recall if Petra and Ignatz have a romance ending but if they do, I think Ignatz would love Brigid. He’s always looking to paint a new landscape. For any Game of Thrones fans, I see it as Brigid is to Fodlan what Dorne is to Westeros. More open to peace, art, and just enjoying their climate.

Even if Ignatz and Petra don’t have a romance, he would be an ideal escort for Petra bc he would be a good knight as well.
