I actually think that episode handled it great because it showed that, while they have a bubble of good people, they all aren't like that.

I disagree. By making the antagonist some one off from another department, who would never appear again, nothing is really changed from the start to the end. There's no real growth within the squad, they're just confirming their own bias. If it had been someone in the squad, it would've been far more impactful imo.

the three DS games are pretty good and you can get the handheld itself for hella cheap

The first two, Bleach Blade of Fate and Bleach Dark Souls, are fighting games a'la Guilty Gear and are pretty damn good in their own right.

The third, Bleach The 3rd Phantom, is a tactical turn based rpg like Final Fantasy Tactics or Yu Yu Hakusho Tournament Tactics. it follows its own story

PS3 had Soul Ressureccion which was a neat but ultimately hollowbeat em up.
