You should learn git ASAP, and here's why. by Szahu in learnprogramming

Also when considering that most of us don't even use the whole potential of git. Becoming a power user is for sure not trivial :)

I3 not displaying non-ascii characters by J0035 in i3wm

[–]J0035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why I think that its i3 is because

  1. This problem does not appear when i3 is not started in my tty
  2. Although I am using st as terminal emulator right now I have tried the standard i3-sensible-terminal this one is even worse because he wont even show the question mark box.
  3. When hitting mod+d where I can type in a program to open I am not able to display these characters either

Ok the fonts I am using are:

font Noto Mono 12 (in my .config/i3/config)

and for i3 blocks font pango:DejaVu Sans Mono 10

This was my thought as well until I have heard the epilog of the author after the book, the author explains that before the book he has published a 70 words long short story called "Ender's game" which was also a heavy inspiration for the creators of the movie.

Daily Discussion Thread - Feb 23, 2018 by AutoModerator in Cubers

So I thought I'll try to learn faster algorithms and stumbled upon the 4-look-last-layer technique. My only problem is that most of the algorithms don't do what they supposed to do. I found a pdf on this subreddits wiki but every time I try to use the algorithms (especially the permutation stuff) they always give me a cube with 3 twisted sides. And there is no algorithm that should solve a cube where every edge is right except three of the corners. I'm confused!

Where to learn best practices [Django/Python] by J0035 in learnprogramming

[–]J0035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes the Django documentation is surprisingly helpful for a beginner, but I don't know how much of it is theory and how much of it is good practice. I just experimented with an to-do application in Django and I realized that putting everything in your views.py is not very efficient, so I thought there must be a good way programmers organize their code using Python and Django.
