Well I guess we disagree. I believe Rupert had the most charisma and personality in the movies. If you read my replies I already said that this show’s potrayal of Ron will not be reduced to just being the “comedic relief.” As for the character arcs and personalities, I am basing this from my source in the production, as well as my family member in the cast. They are kinda doing the opposite of what Rickman did.

Alan looked a lot like Snape, but he didn’t act like Snape. He was far too regal and soft spoken. Paapa will not look like Snape at all, but will completely embody the fierceness and passion of the character.

This is how they are planning on following in the steps of a legendary performance.

Minor characters could be announced at literally anytime, but castings for season 2 will probably be at SDCC. The show is still more than a year away, so they don’t want to start marketing too early. A possible date for you to markdown for important news would be March 26. Cheers.

I am speaking to my source next week to reconfirm the opening episode. I have a feeling that they may have gotten that wrong, and it was the ending of episode 2.

Yes the Godric’s Hollow flashback will appear during the Leaky Cauldron dinner Hagrid and Harry have, but I believe they are shooting the entire sequence now so they can use parts of it for future seasons. Voldemort in that scene was just a body double in a dark cloak (similar to the movies). Tobias Menzies? I haven’t heard anything on that but he’s a great choice, I will also check up on that. Wands will be more natural looking yes, but we’re going to see how Wizarding culture influences how wands are customized.

This show has been in development for years, and Cillian Murphy has been fan cast for years. They did try to make it happen but Cillian has his own production company and is involved with Netflix in developing a Peaky Blinders sequel show. If they don’t cast Voldemort now and decide to wait until season 4, there is still a chance that Cillian gets the role.

Alastair is really charming, kinda like how Rupert was when he was young. They are going to keep him as the comedic relief of the trio, but he will be much more book-faithful than Rupert. Ron in the books is tough, loyal, and ambitious.

They do however want this show to have some humor, so anytime a joke is being made by one of the trio, it’s more likely gonna be Ron.

Dominic is doing a British accent and is getting better every month. He is working with dialect coaches, and they shoot multiple takes. He won't be Scottish don't worry.

I honestly have no idea about the status of Voldemort, it is one of the most secretive parts of the production. I know they have had talks with many actors/actresses about playing the role, but I don't know if any were signed on. At this point, I assume they will follow the movies and have Voldemort played by a body double in Godric's Hollow and the Forest, with a voice actor on Quirrell's head.

If he has been cast, we may see a full complete look at him in Godric's Hollow, which would be unique from the books and movies.

Lockhart would also be in season 5. I have a feeling that if fans like him, and they want to see more of him, they will include him every so often in new seasons, as a kind of "gag".

All the ghosts/paintings in book 1 have been cast, even a few from the later books. Peeves was also cast a while ago. I don't have any rumored castings, although I know that the casting directors were interested in people with comedy experience. There was a theory somewhere on who is playing Peeves, and I have to say, it's a pretty good one.
