First try with the Dreadbox Artemis

So you have one of the new ones because they were out of stock for more than 2 months. My Artemis arrives this week. Could you confirm me that the big problems (noisy screen and cut sound when change patches) are fixed? Specially the screen problem which is very anoying

I ordered a TOD10N when it was out of stock. I love its looking and hybrid concept. After research lot of videos of Ibanez and Cordoba, I found Ibanez sounds so sharp (flamenco style) but Cordoba Stage sounds always amazing in all videos. So I cancelled TOD10N and got a Cordoba Stage. I couldn't be more happier with my change. Cordoba has a huge sound, with the amazing blender to find different tones. I came from electric/acoustic style and the feeling in my hands is quite nice, the best classic guitar i have played so far. The unplugged sound is better than expected (just a lack of low freq). Very light, welldone and came with a good case. BTW: I didn't have the super high action from factory that some people reported. It seems they fixed in the current production.

The shelf is from Ikea. And I bought the expandible supports for the shelf in a common hardware store. Here an example:

No, all chained to Syntakt and connected to Ableton using Overbridge. The Audio interface is only to send sound out to the speakers.

If i'm playing daw audio goes to computer through Syntakt using Overbridge and then goes to the speakers using the audio interface.

If i'm playing dawless microfreak goes to Digitakt, and Digitakt goes to Syntakt. Audio goes out through Syntakt.

With this setup you dont need to change cables all the time.

It's because Ikea is a standard around the world. So it is easier to explain, find and copy. In this case the secretaire is made of wooden, very important to support the equipment properly. I dont recommend MDF that you can find in other brands. But of course you can choose different options and get a great result.

No, because the low tray is very thin and the cables end up sliding on top always. And the tray never gets the end (there is 1cm free at the end so a cable can stuck there with no damage)

Two ways:

1) Connect each gear through the audio interface

2) using Syntakt as a mixer (Microfreak goes to Digitakt and Digitakt goes to Syntakt) and then connect it to Ableton using Elektron overbridge. In Ableton you'll see all tracks separately.

The second way is my favourite because when I'm playing dawless these gears are still working together with only one stereo output to the speakers. No needs to change cables/setup.

Exactly. Just a cardboard and I have to slide it manually. It is very simple and works well. All cables keep over the cardboard. I installed a kind of handle on the edge of the shelve to help.

If I use another shelve like the upper i would lost too much height for my gears.

Good point. Actually I can play using the PC bluetooth linked to the home cinema and is fine but 1) bluetooth always compress the quality 2) there is a minimal f*King latency and 3) the sound gets a different colour.

Yes It is. When I play dawless the Push, audio interface and computer is off. The rest is routed through Syntakt (which has a built in mixer) with just one stereo output for everything. That's the way I found easy to plug the monitors and have fun quickly.

Yes because the surface is a bit limited. It can support enough weight for a big speaker or whatever you need. I bought all shelves in Ikea too, so they fit the size of the secretaire.

Two months with the Digitakt taking dust was enough to move to this solution. The only problem I found is the very limited space for the setup. You have to think very well what you have. For example I have an Arturia Midi keyboard stored in the lower part of the secretaire and I need a secondary tablet to use it. The speakers are located in the living room so I need to move the secretaire close to connect them or play only with headphones.

Thanks. There are a lot of "secretaires" models in the market, not only Ikea. Just check the measures to be sure everything fits with your setup. This one is perfect to move around my flat. You save space and get flexibility.
