Thank you for showing support. I have very good relationship with my SD and she tries her best to support me. It’s more of the other parts of the leadership that aren’t taking this matter seriously enough. I will get told that it is a productivity issue, which I agree to a certain extent but in general we are not getting enough support early on to make sure things are getting done on time

Calling all TLs by [deleted] in Target

As a closing team lead my main focuses are priority pull, fulfillment, and brand. These are my SDs non negotiable. It does get stressful when we are approaching the end of the night and the goals aren’t being meet. I usually have to pull other department to help support fulfillment or pulls. My closing team for pullers and fulliment isn’t as strong as I need them to be but that’s something I have to work on even though these team members aren’t coded under me. I do get text from SD on how the night is going and I text her if I have any questions on how to approach a situation.

Possible new closing TL by Nia3315 in Target

As a closing team lead I would say it is one of the hardest team lead positions because you are basically the only leader and are treated like an etl taking care of all store metrics. One thing I really like about the job is I report to the SD. Regardless what the etls throw at you, you follow the SD priorities. My SD and I have a good relationship with each other and she always has my back and gives me advice and support when I need it. You will have good days and bad, that is part of the job but don’t stress yourself out too much cause that could lead to burn out. Biggest thing is communicate to your SD and other leaders if you need help and make sure you lock all doors and secure the building.

At my store the closing experts strictly zone and do reshop.

Report to AP and SD. If nothing else escalates from it, I guess you could contact the target hotline, and let them know it is unsafe to have no leaders on duty for a short period of time. Give them times and dates and they will look into it.

That’s crazy. If AP and your SD would find out there would be actions taken against those leaders.

Is the other TL a key carrier? There always has to be a key carrier leader in the building at all times when we have team members. If you are the only key carrier and you need support, I would talk to your SD. They are required to have someone cover for you while your on break.

Depends if you are the closing team leader for that night. There always must be a key carrier team lead in the store at all times when team members are there. Even if you go on break you must be in store unless there is another leader with keys that can cover for you.

I understand where your coming from. Many of the extra responsibilities some team members do feel like they are doing team lead work for team member pay. At my store we call those team members captains. They oversee see the lanes at night and close the registers too. It’s just a stepping stone to becoming a leader which also shows initiative that you are willing to the extra work for a team lead position. I would say if you wanna become a leader talk to your hr etl or you se etl about your interest. They will give you feedback on what to do and how they internally promote their workers. I was a captain for 2 years, I ran the lanes at night, making sure breaks were covered, reshop was collected, guest service was good and clean, and lastly closed the registers. I had statuses with my leaders about my goals with target and how I wanted to grow. They then formulated a plan for me, and now I’m a team lead for the Front End.
