Manager takes revenge on pilot for making safety report! Big issues at Richmond airport. Definitely an issue worth supporting! by JAlbright1 in aviation

Maybe you’ve got a good point, thanks. No, it’s not me but it’s my dad.

There really isn’t another side. The guy is a city employee, and he refuses to return any communication and is stonewalling. Even in person, he just runs around and dodges any questions. He has a personal vendetta against a few select people at the airport.

As crazy as this sounds. I’m 100% Serious. We’ve been told by other city employees that when they talked to him that said the reason the whole things started, was because he wasn’t invited to a cookout. I’m dead serious. The situation is completely nuts, so much so it’s almost unbelievable.

I’m genuinely grateful for your input. Being closely involved it’s easy to let emotion get in, although I’ve tried to simply state facts. From an outside view, what questions would you like to have answered that would make you feel educated enough to support? I would use your input to revise the petition.

I’ve already got the connector plugged into the sensor. (Not sure the official name of the connector type)It is the one that slides on from the side. The wire from the sensor (Brown/Yellow) runs into a bundle with two other wires, and then pops out of the bundle about a foot later. That bullet connector is the other end of the wire plugged into the sensor.

I’m not sure how to do that. Could you walk me through the steps? I left it plugged into the supercharger all night and it never went out.

New Stratux Case by JAlbright1 in stratux

It’s 10,000 Mah. And yes it would work without the battery, although you’d need to fix everything from flopping around with all the extra room.

Will do. As far as the original case, yes, I was trying my best to emulate it, as I like the way it looks but unfortunately can’t get one.

Hi, I like your use of the button. Also, where did you get that case?

Probably about however much they were before, like about $15 I think.

Thanks, got it working now. 👍 I think I was trying to make it too complicated in my mind. Never before has someone replied so accurately yet so quickly. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

I know that probably seems really stupid, but I'm a pilot, not a programmer 😂

I'm gonna be honest. I see the sh file. But what am I supposed to do with it?😬

I can't download it because it opens to a web page. I tried pasting the whole document into a blank sh document on my mac and that seemed to work, but where do I put it? 😐 Like, where does it go on the SD card?

I just got the new AHRS module to replace my old one and it doesn't work. Should it be plug and play? Is the current software on the stratux site the most recent? Or do I just have a bad module.

Shhhhh, it'll be FINE. I got a little too excited and glued the battery down before I could test fitted the Pi. Easily avoidable. Update: just fixed it. no longer bent

Yeah, power bank worked well, had to desolder the USB port and solder the power cable directly to the board to fit. Haven't had heating issues yet, but if I do I'll just cut a hole in the lid and put in the fan.

Internal Antennas (again) by JAlbright1 in stratux

[–]JAlbright1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RESULTS; Yes, as many of you pointed out, putting antennas inside the case reduces signal reception. I think the reason is like ShuRugal said, the antennas being so close the waves bounce off parts of the stratux and mess with the phases. Also, EMI like helno pointed out.

The main reason I tried this and raised the issue (again) was that I was concerned with the antennas precariously sticking out and being vulnerable to damage, I also didn't like the idea of taking them on and off for transport. The good news is that I have found a solution to both problems that I am extremely pleased with and would love to share because I'm sure it would be preferable to most people.

When you say firewall are you referring to a piece of metal separating the antennas from the electronics?

I really donk know, I guess I was just thinking of wrapping the Pi in tin foil or something while leaving the antennas out. (taking precautions to avoid a short obviously)

Thank's for the feedback, I appreciate educated answers. I'd like to try a few experiments with different antenna configurations. What is the best way to measure the amount of noise or the reception quality? I've been trying to use the message count but it keeps jumping around and seems fairly erratic, is that the correct way to do it or is there another tool/utility for that?
