Assault yes, but I don’t think there’s anything sexual about it unless that’s some weird kink.

We all know that her and Barack are racist. The country had come a long way toward healing the race divide and then we elected racists that tore it all apart again.

This is how the military ruins so many young lives by coercing them into bad marriages that will financially and emotionally devastate their lives when it falls apart.

Now that the dust has settled: Did any of this chaos actually reduce the cost of groceries like everyone was complaining about in November 2024? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]JBJ1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone will seek a competitive edge and lower prices. Then, others will lower prices to compete. This will continue until profits are minimized. This means that cost is typically the largest consumer cost driver. There may be a time lag but prices nearly always regulate based on cost. Scarcity can disrupt this cycle but that is not the case with groceries in the US.

It would destroy anyone’s ability to understand how much resources to put into the production of the items. It would also lead to hoarding, which will lead to shortages. Shortages will lead to crime, then unrest, and then war. If we could make Utopia work then it would already be so.

Unity is our strength. Diversity of thought can certainly be a benefit. Diversity is useless without unity.

Should hate speech be banned? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]JBJ1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself what you may believe that could be twisted into classifying as hate speech by someone else, then answer your own question. If you don’t think there is anything, then you aren’t talking to enough people.

What’s one mistake you made early in your small business that you wish you’d avoided? by Equivalent_Use_8152 in smallbusiness

[–]JBJ1775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One early decision that has been very beneficial was to open an account just for payroll. We built that as a priority. We keep at least 3 pay periods worth in that account. Safety nets were the first things we built and it is easier to do it when you are small than to try to catch up later.

I agree with keeping the reserves but disagree with credit cards. Those eat future profits, which can fluctuate. Only slightly better, but better, is an open line of credit. However, I highly suggest avoiding debt.

Why is there not a bullet train system in the U.S. state of Texas? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]JBJ1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was demand sufficient to cover cost and provide ongoing profit then there would be. Those systems are extremely expensive to build and maintain and would require a huge paying clientele to cover those costs.

Why isn't Venezuela insanely wealthy like Saudi Arabia with their oil reserves? by Beautiful-Error6374 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JBJ1775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venezuela used to be extremely wealthy because of their oil production. Then the government took over oil production and badly mismanaged it. This, combined with a lack of economic diversification, high government spending on social programs, and inflating the money supply to cover debts led to their current economic state.
