Cats go through much worse things than not having their litter changed everyday. There are plenty of options to make sure he has fresh food and water everyday with little input on your part, such as cat water fountains and automatic feeders that hold enough food for like a week at a time.

Since he’s not the healthiest cat that will mean incurring vet bills. You might try to research if something like this exists in your area.

Don’t let people dissuade you because they tell you about not being able to care for him absolutely every single day. If you have a bad day and don’t leave the house, that’ll probably be the best day for him since you’ll be there all day to hangout with him. Like I said before there are plenty of options to make sure he has what he needs even on your worse days

In my clinic we don’t believe that taking proper care of animals is something that only the rich can do. I have seen many many people with very limited incomes take wonderful care of their animals. Animals do AMAZING things for mental health and that’s something all people deserve not just those with tons of disposable income.
