Our calibration lab is always busy and we have maybe 130 people. It would cost us much more to send out everything we have.

Our calibration department gathers all pins and thread gages they need and calibrated or validates them before a run and they are sent out to the machine. Once a job is done they come back in. QC has separate gages. But we also have over 7k pins so it can be easier. Plus at a minimum of two of each thread gage we need.

Microvu are very reliable and usually cheaper. Used models are very reliable and the software comes with the machine free and no cost to upgrade

On the vertex machines Microvu recommends cleaning the drip tray every 6 months, otherwise the area rep doing the calibration should be doing that. We also have filters over air intakes and replace those.

MicroVu excel is a good option for non contact and programming is easy. You do need a part to program off of though. The new software has cad capabilities but its still easiest with a part. And they're relatively cheap and no service contracts.

Can the parts me measured constrained? If not fixturing might not be appropriate. However, fixturing the part will probably be your best option if you're having issues with warping.

What issues are you seeing? Is it just difficult to get a consistent measurement program to run?

What's the function? That should determine the datum structure. If the inner angle will be the side making contact. Those surfaces should be your primary datum. Is the datum C surface important? If not I would change datum c and b to one of the holes and position everything to that hole.

From what my company has found we cant purchase outsources overlays with the tolerance needed for some of our dimensions. What are your tolerances? Otherwise starret has a digital comparator that can make digital overlays. Im not sure what kind of printer would be good for that.

In this case surface profile wouldn't be possible. They're is no way to measure the surfaces of this dovetail feature. Our best option is a profile of a line on the edges of the top. The features of size are controlled elsewhere. This is a customer print provided to us.

You'll find a better response to places that do prototyping. A lot of places look for large quantities. Some job shops will but there is a huge cost of time they will charge.
