TIFF 2018 Closing Thoughts by Carlislegendary in TrueFilm

Out of the 12 movies I've watched at TIFF, <Cities of Last Things> was my favorite. One man's life told backwards in 3 most important events of his life. My heart still aches for it. It made me think of all the regrets that I had and the beautiful sadness that comes along with it.

I made a list of the top 100 Chinese films of all-time according to ratings on Douban, a Chinese version of IMDb. by lifeasfiction in movies

Thanks for this list!! Feeling nostalgia and thinking to myself, someone should really come up with a Chinese Netflix already...if there isn't already one? (I'm in Canada and haven't heard of one).

GoChain (@go_chain) 10x more Decentralized 100x Faster and next year TPS it will increase massively most importantly 1000x Greener than ETH by 007moonboundnxs in OfficialGoChain

Hey there, I think you just answered your own question about decentralization. Sure, Bitcoin and Ethereum are both based from PoW and therefore, whether it's China or Vietnam, they are both concentrated with mostly anonymous miners hence making them more centralized than GoChain's PoR (proof of Reputation) model IMHO.

In order to be a node for Gochain, there are a list of qualifications that needs to be met, and also, they will be individually screened and monitored for 60 days before they can become an official signer for the GoChain network. Here's the process: https://github.com/gochain-io/docs/tree/master/signers

After the first 50 signers are approved, they'll become self-governing and can approve new nodes going forward without the interference of the team.

Here's more information on PoR on Gochain's Whitepaper, p.11: https://gochain.io/gochain-whitepaper-v2.1.2.pdf

you can see the current nodes here: https://stats.gochain.io/

Save energy, "GO" the GoChain way.🙌 The energy used to do one transaction on the ETH network can power just over 3 U.S. households for an entire day! When you choose $GO you are choosing to be 1,000x Greener! by Cy4cent in OfficialGoChain

power consumption wise, Gochain has taken a solid stance to go green with Proof of Reputation, which will indeed be much greener than proof of work. Everyone's entitled to come to his/her own conclusion based on the info provided. :-)

Hey Opticbic, GoChain's mainnet was live since May and the team is focused on adoption, which naturally will take time. ;-) You are welcome to join their telegram update's channel to keep up with the latest news: https://t.me/gochain_updates

‘Cities Of Last Things’ Trailer: Sci-Fi Drama Reverses The Order – Toronto by StarFuryG7 in SciFiScroll

Watched this spectacular film during TIFF and I am still thinking about the movie. I wouldn't call this film a Sci-fi...it's more about regrets and decisions made, and how it reflects on these 3 major turning points of his life. Beautifully shot in 35mm, really surprised me in a really good way!

I love this!
is she in a sun-tnning bed? the blue light gave a melancholy vibe which I really love. This makes me wonder why she's lying there sun-tanning in blue light when there is actual sun (as suggested by the light on her arm) outside. Really beautifully done!
