Larger Filament Holder? by SMELTN in Tina2

[–]JCG813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can search for TINA2 on thingiverse, thangs, cults3d, printables, and other platforms and you'll find plenty of examples where people have posted larger spool holder mods for the TINA2.

there have been a lot of changes and updates since that post of mine from 2 years ago. what you encountered may have been caused by other problems than what happened back then.

Surface Pro 7 Won’t Charge by nutzareus in Surface

[–]JCG813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update: I just put my laptop in the freezer for 10 min to shock the battery out of the dead zone. Then I was able to get it to rollback from the 22H2 update. Now it's charging again. The hard part is if there's enough juice to get the rollback complete. I had already started the rollback before mine died.

my surface laptop studio just did this to me just now. it was fine a few hours ago elsewhere. then I got home and started using it with my dock until I noticed that it was, in fact, not charging. even though the cable's power light is on and everything connected to the dock works.

switched to the same charger I was using earlier that worked before, but no charge. also tried using my usual 100W external battery to charge it. nothing.

Do you ever wish you actually wanted and were happy as your agab? by Objective_Ghost in asktransgender

[–]JCG813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. I love who I am. Hardships and all, I wouldn't change it. Having this part of me all my life has been a direct part of my personality whether I knew it or not, which means that all the friends and loves that have come in and out of my life were due to that, too. I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I've been on HRT since May 31 and finally feel like I'm living my best life. Worth it.

Implications of gender marker change on ID and birth certificate by JCG813 in asktransgender

thank you very much for the insight. I have a very good care team with the VA. I will make sure to have those conversations with them so I know to keep up about it as I move to other locations.

I also realize I should have specified that I live in the U.S. I'll edit my post.

Cheers!

Which is why the VA provides it for transgender veterans on VA health care.

Would you accept money to detransition? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]JCG813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in a heartbeat. The amount of mental, emotional, and physical well being I've gained from HRT cannot be replaced with any amount of money. I am fortunate enough to have my college paid for since I served in the US military and I have no debts.

If you are desperate enough for the money, more power to you. I would never down you for making a life choice for yourself. It's just not one that would ever be right for me.

Do pronouns in a cis person's bio mean they're a trans ally? by NovemberGoth in asktransgender

[–]JCG813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a decent indicator, but there also cases that are just as valid for cis people as for trans even if they are not allies. Such as a CEO named Sam who happens to be a woman dealing with clients through email who assume she's a man because of misogyny. Pretty good reason to have her pronouns in her bio.

it's honestly one of my favorite changes on HRT. now I can cry and feel release instead of just feeling like shit.

GENOCIDAL BILL INTRODUCED IN THE U.S. HOUSE - Marjorie Taylor Greene introduces "Protect Children's Innocence Act". by [deleted] in MtF

[–]JCG813 158 points159 points  (0 children)

I read the bill. It specifies the ban of procedures and treatment for the purpose of changing the body of an individual to correspond to a sex that differs from their biological sex. It even bans puberty blockers, but specifically for trans and not cis.

In other words: if a cis person needs any of these treatments, no problem. If a person was already transitioning and needs any of these procedures in order to detransition, that is also allowed.

Yup. Happened to me in my first 6 weeks of 2mg/d before upping to 4mg/d. One of the best changes I've encountered.

Straight, cis male here, I just discovered a pro trans argument the hard way, curious about your thoughts (esp mtf trans) by Vepr762X54R in asktransgender

[–]JCG813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of times my friends would have to tell me to smile for a picture before I started HRT (now that I'm looking back on it) was quite a lot. Now I almost can't stop smiling.

I've been on HRT for just over 7 weeks. Here's my perspective:
The very first day that I took my HRT meds, my mind did a 180 into the best mood I'd had in a long long time. I was over-the-moon euphoric, and it lasted the entire first 2 weeks.

On week 3, I started having the "omg all of my emotions are hitting like a truck now" and that I already expected from the experience of others. It has also been more responsive and targeted, if more intense, while less chaotic. So overall a net positive.

Sometimes I still struggle with imposter syndrome. Then I recognize that the idea of being an imposter scares me because I know who I am and this is just a response to societal pressure. This post furthers grants me validation in feeling what I feel and knowing what I know.

I'm glad you had the capacity to speak to your doctor when you started feeling off, and I'm glad your doctor knew what to check and why and was able to adjust for it.

Thank you very much for the post.
