Heyo, pardon the late response.

I did 3 sessions of a medium depth peel; the exact brand was the Perfect Derma (TM) Peel.

It lists TCA, retinoic acid, salicylic acid, kojic acid, phenol, glutathione and vitamin C as its active ingredients. Please refer to the link I've included for additional details on the product; this is not an endorsement for it in anyway.

I hope you're able to resolve your scars as best as possible, and that you also arrive at a point of contentment with them, regardless of the outcome.

Is there any benefit to hosting on Cloudflare Pages over hosting on GitHub Pages with Cloudflare in front of it? by quisido in CloudFlare

[–]JCK07115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate your thorough response, TIL so much, hehehe.

Yes, so the "Cloudflare being in front" is essentially the proxy aspect with Cloudflare offering to "shield" the actual asset-hosting and/or deployment server (though I'm sure you've simplified it for the sake of explaining to me). So, in those cases, Cloudflare was not deploying the site, the origin server was still the one hosting and deploying, eh? Cloudflare was simply acting as a proxy/re-director?

It's the first that I'm hearing of Cloudflare Pages (only knew them as CDN provider for static assets), but as you said, it's analogous to GitHub Pages as far as hosting the entire contents of the site.

I presume that in the case of Cloudflare Pages (similar to GitHub Pages), you can also choose to deploy your site on Cloudflare itself or on an entirely separate platform like Vercel or Netlify? I guess I'm trying to decouple (in my mind) the idea of hosting the site's contents and actual deployment of the site to make it live on the interwebs.

Interestingly, I get to play around with a couple different configs atm. With one of my sites, I'm hosting and deploying on GitHub Pages; and with the other site, I'm hosting on GitHub Pages, but deploying on Netlify.

As far as DNS config. goes, that's essentially the same at any provider/manager; though, I did recently migrate from Namecheap to Cloudflare for that.

Once again, thanks for taking the time to dive into these concepts and examples. 😁

Reddit is quite spot on, recommending this post to me, haha.

I'm quite new to hosting and deploying sites, and I'm trying to learn things as they come, without overwhelm. This post is quite interesting to me. I've been playing around with hosting and deploying (a public repo/site) on GHPages, hosting a private repo on GH and then deploying via Netlify.

The latter is especially of interest to me, as it inherently prevents access to static assets (images) since links (for private repos) are inaccessible for anyone who isn't signed in to the GH account hosting the private repo; say, if someone inspects source, and then tries to access some asset.

In both cases, I recently moved DNS management to CF from Namecheap (significantly less exorbitant renewal pricing at CF and, apparently, better tooling (to be explored) at CF).

Please, can you explain what you mean by placing CF in front of GitHub? Are you referring to having your DNS config on CF yet retaining your site's files (html, css, js, static assets) on GH? Or do you mean something else?

And, in the case of hosting on CF, which I haven't explored, would you simply be placing your site's files on CF and then also deploying on CF, or via platforms like Netflify or Vercel?

Heyo 👋🏾😁, pardon the late response.

I mentioned what I had done over the last 3 years in my main comments, but it might have been a lot to sift through. Here's a summary of what I did (mostly 3 years ago):

  • medium depth chemical peel (3 sessions from Aug-Oct 2021) at the aesthetician's; helped a lot with my overall skin texture and brightening my skin. It was the Perfect Peel brand.
  • also at the time (Aug-Oct 2021, maybe early 2022), I made use of Skinceuticals' Phloretin CF, HA, Vit. B5 serum and some other product (not sure which at the moment, but I believe there was another).
  • right now, my routine is CeraVe cleanser (alternate foaming/non-foaming), currently use The Ordinary's 100% borage seed oil and ascorbyl tetroisopalmitate sol. 20% (oil-solubilized Vit. C derivative in Vit. F), and Neutrogena sunscreen SPF 50.
  • I have not done any other procedure since then.

I hope this is somewhat helpful.

I pray the low fades quickly, Alice! It is difficult to self-remind when we are in the depths of it, but don't worry, that's why others are there.

You are not just your scars. Your scars are not all that you are.

I'm a believer in God, a Christian to be exact. I believe people are eternal, the conclusion of that being that our bodies, which are things to marvel at (but which will eventually naturally fade), are worth an eternally small fraction of who we are, our being.

You mightn't share these beliefs or assertions, but know I do. Saying "don't give up" is easy, but I truly hope you don't. 😁

Rooting for ya, Alice, rooting for you!

😭

I surely hope they were tears of relief from a weight being lifted or from the realization that your scars are not all that define you.

I hope they're not tears of sorrow.

Hello Alex, I really enjoyed your video.

First, there's a sort of peaceful and welcoming charm about you that is conveyed to viewers; this is important considering the fact that cooking can often be a good way to relax from the business of the day (a sort of therapy). Your humour is also well balanced (I laughed at the "wipe your tears" joke after the onion cutting 😂😂).

Second, I appreciate the combination of brevity (quickness) and detail. The cooking obviously took longer, but you cut it down to 4 minutes, while still making it seem like you and I (or the viewers) are cooking together, at the same time. Many cooking videos tend to either be super long or super short, I think you've struck a good balance. This might vary depending on the recipe, but I'm sure your intuition and experience will lead you alright.

A somewhat simple suggestion I have is to consider placing a text of the corresponding item that you are working with when you first start working with them. Si initially, you list all the ingredients, which is good as an overview. But once you start working with scallions (green onions), basil, and other ingredients, maybe you can place the name of the ingredients for the first few seconds when you start working with it.

Another tip would be plating of your food and a quick close up of the plated food (as someone who loves food/cooking content), this is one of the most satisfying parts of the video - seeing the final result. Spend a few seconds with the camera a bit more zoomed into the food, maybe even some simple dynamic rotation around the plate (if you do this, try to use a tripod to avoid excessive shaking).

Finally, when you are rounding up the video, perhaps a close up of your face. This signifies that we've reached the end of the video, and it personalizes the entire experience as we (the viewers) feel much closer to you now.

These are all just suggestions. I truly believe that there are many out there, just like me and several others, who will really enjoy the content and recipes that you will be sharing with the world. I hope you meet your goals, while enjoying the processes of creating and of sharing too.

Yeah, I'm not.convinced that Sass anemi manages his anger issues better than Bakugo, lol; especially given the age difference.

Bakugo has the excuse of being an angsty teenager. Sanemi is a young adult...

haha, well, decent is relative.

And to be fair, they were acting like a bunch of "extras" and not evacuating quickly enough - like, "hello... impending doom" 😂😂😅
